i am staying at admiralty area...near woodlands side 3M there. Does any mummies know what time they would pick?

I am at CCK. Pick up at 6.00am home by 2.15pm bus fare $140 w/o CCA bus . I think woodlands is $10-$20 more.

I have a big problem with RS over the CCA bus for my girl this year. Since she is already in P6, I let her take the MRT back herself. Lots of P6 girls travel to/fro from school by themselves. Glad that they intend to change the bus service provider.

They used different mini buses for each area. So I think your pick up time should be around the same time.

May I know what is the problem that you have encountered? Can share with us? Wow...I think must have caused you alot of headache if not will not let your child take MRT. It is a long journey back home yah. Yes, I am stressed over the timing in the morning as it maybe too early for my child. My child is used to taking school bus. H/w hubby wants to send her on his own. My husband drives super fast and I am also worried. He has tried taking just 25 mins to dr from woodlands down to SMPS.

can i know what time will your little girl reach school in the morning?

could you also advise me what must i bring for the admission for the reg for primary 1 to show that i am an old girl?

My girl said she would normally reached school at 7.00am.

As for admission, please bring along your report book and any other materials that can prove that you studied in the primary eons ago.

I stay in Bukit Batok and the bus picked my girl around 6.30am. Drop off is around 2.30pm@student care near home.

dd is p2 this year..so no cca., but she stayed behind for swimming lessons etc. Took the cca bus @4.30pm and home around 5.15pm. Not to worry, your dd will not feel bored , there are friends in the bus she will get to know. Usually I will prepare some snack for her to munch and shared with her friends in bus.

You're welcome happy me. My daughter's form teacher teaches English and Character Development. She has formed the girls into small groups, named after insects. She plays simple games with them, sometimes letting them \"compete\" against each other, but all for fun.


SMPS uses STELLAR, so the only textbook is a handwriting book. Otherwise, the only way I know what my daughter's learning is through the worksheets she occasionally brings home for me to sign.

Maths is My Pals Are Here, workbooks, textbooks and something called Maths Tests. SMPS also has its own Maths book.

Is your daughter taking Chinese? Can't help you with this as mine takes Tamil.

There are \"softer\" subjects like Civics & Moral Education (CME) conducted in the Mother Tongue, Health Education, Social Studies and Music. There are textbooks for all of these. There's also Art and SMPS has its own Art bag. These things can be kept in the locker. Your daughter will be assigned one and you'll need to get her a padlock for it. The school's cleaners clean the lockers every half year, so your daughter will have to lug all that stuff back home at the end of Terms 2 and 4.

PE of course. They start gymnastics in the second half of the year. Gym teachers only speak Chinese so my daughter has a hard time following. Around CNY, the P1s have their own sports day. Since this year was YOG, the theme was Olympics, with some of the girls were dressed in long, white dresses and wearing a simple crown on their heads, carrying the \"Olympic torch\". The P2s to P6s were all present to lend their support, most wearing Chinese clothes since CNY was coming up soon.

Each class has a monitor and assistant monitor, whom the teachers pick.

The PTA (Parent Teachers Assn) organises a fund-raising carnival with lots of fun and games. SMPS also gives out donation cards each year for the girls to help raise money. To be expected I guess since this is a mission school.

SMPS is big on recycling. The girls are encouraged to bring pet bottles to recycle. I think there's a small reward for the class within each level that recycles the most.

For the first month, the P4 girls will buddy the P1s to show them the ropes. Food sold in the canteen is all healthy, no fried anything. But you can pack anything you like for your daughter.

I think that's most of it. The orientation day is very good. You can get practically all your questions answered then. Plus buy all the uniforms and stuff on the booklist, and book transport and student care. Another briefing is held early in the year with some info on how the Maths and Chinese lessons are conducted. This year, SMPS had a Hanyu Pinyin workshop/info session. Wish they had something for Maths as P1 Maths is mind boggling! We already bought the P2 textbook and workbook 1A to give my daughter a headstart in Dec. Yes, I am proud to be a KSP :lol:

Early January next year, the FT will pass the swimming letter to the class. The Learn-to-Swim Programme is at Farrer Park Aquatic Centre, starting around 2.15pm and back to school by 4.15pm.
Prepare a big bag which able to hold swim board, sun lotion, comb, swimsuit, goggles, cap, towel, t-shirt&short, extra cash for lunch & snack. The Learn-to-Swim Programme for P2 will end in October before exam. Not sure whether it will cotinue to P3.

And also in P2, girls with music background will learn to play harmonica and those without any music based, start with theory lessons and learn to play recorder later.

Do let me know if you need to know anything about P2. My younger girl going to P1 next year.

Oh dear doraemo, so many things for swimming! How did your daughter manage to carry all that plus her usual school bag? Do you remember when the lessons start? Is it compulsory? I assume lunch and snack times are at the sch canteen? That aquatic centre is the Ang Peng Siong one right?


Harmonica/recorder lessons are during the usual music lessons I hope? My daughter has no music background so she’ll have to start with theory.

By the way, are the Maths books for P2 the green My Pals Are Here?
