  RRmummy, gosh, the words are difficult for K2! I thought they are only expected to read them but not to write.

Ya me thinks scary too.. well 3 more to go...Hi RRMummy,
I saw your daughter's 听写 list...it's incredibly hard for a 6 year old. What in the world are K2 Chinese teachers thinking now ?
My son didn't even have regular 听写 back then (same kindy). My daughter's 听写 is amazing. But your daughter's list is SCARY.
My daughter is still a wee lil doll...very petite...but going on to real school next year. I'm glad and relieved she has almost completed kindy and moving on to P1...somehow the feeling of having 1 kid in primary school and the other in kindergarten is tiring bcos I have difficulties adjusting my brain to teach 2 very diff levels.
Yeah my DDs are also on the petite side, my DD2 more so... don't know if real school will be scary for them or not...
hang in there 2 more months and both your darlings will be in Primary school!

U found it difficult too?
RRMummy, \"difficult\" is not the correct word.....

You think so too eh.. I guess all the mummies here think so too..
I didn't really know what to expect but by my own (low) standard, even I found it challenging to remember so many strokes lor...
DD1 was kinda confused with the 4 seasons initially but thankfully it turned out great...
This CC (joined only since July this year) has very high expectation of CL. The EL i find is rather moderate although I have no idea what is the real expectation for P1. Maths is according to P1 syllabus.. -

It may be a blessing that your girl is in this childcare centre. Helps prepare her for the rigours in the primary school that she will be studying in from next year onwards.
We may say how difficult the standard set by the childcare centre is, but come next year, or even subsequent years, I believe you will be thankful that the childcare centre has helped to give your girl a good headstart to Chinese. -

You may be right qms... but but.. the one big bugbear is that the school lacks in what I deem most important.. TLC.. my gals and I feel that it is no where near the tender loving care they were showered in their ex-CC..It may be a blessing that your girl is in this childcare centre. Helps prepare her for the rigours in the primary school that she will be studying in from next year onwards.

for this we are planning to relocate my DD2 next year when she goes to K1... it may likely be a compromise when it comes to CL preparation but TLC is a super important factor for me.. unless the teachers start changing then that's a different consideration...

Some parents would feel that difficult 听写 helps in P1…however, I find this will frighten the kids before they even go to P1…and may backfire. I do teach my gal 听写 but won’t push her to memorize and get all correct. If she does, I praise her, but even if she gets all wrong, I praise her for effort put in.
