There are always two sides to a coin. At the end of the day, you know your kids best. So, adopt the method which fits your children. Some children like challenges, while others will buckle.

Agreed. TLC is important, too. In life, we have to give and take. If you feel that a certain aspect is more important, then, go for it, but be prepared that other aspects may not be ideal.

My girl, too, prefers her former childcare centre.
Yup life is all a balancing act...

Your DD also change CC? Why? Ours coz we relocate... so no choice..

My girl's childcare centre underwent a management change beginning of this year. So, location-wise still the same, but managed by different companies.

ic ic... she must be missing the old teachers too..

i see all other parents and kids are okay with this current CC.. .maybe for us, we get to compare now and before so it makes the situation much less ideal...

For 听写,the child can only remember through writing...even my son at P4 writes to remember. I get her the XL square exercise books for her to practice...can almost finish one exercise book for 2 weeks. Why must 听写 be so difficult ???

              :?

For my gal, the school gives CL homework twice a week. It is 1 full page (medium boxes) of writing the sentence/part of the phrase for the week's ting xie. Tuesday 2 phrases and Friday another 2 phrases. Meaning just as homework, she will have to write each of the character in a column.

On Saturday and Sunday, morning and night, we will go through the full ting xie test once or twice. One final test on Monday morning before going to CC.

So far, this works very well for us.

I agree that the list is very difficult, i would already be very happy if she can recognize those words...

The CC and more importantly my hubs believe that CL must learn to write to remember... thankfully DD1 is not resistant.. 🙏

                      Dear all,

My child is going to P1 soon in 3 mths time. I am very worried about her concentration in class.

Most of her k1-k2 teachers said that she is quite a fast learner, therefore sometimes she seems a little 'bored' in class...That worries me because P1 is definitely not as easy as Pre-school.

She is also very forgetful. She will forgets where she places her book, her bottle is always missing...etc. I’m tired of reminding her to do her spelling, ting xie every week....I wish she can be more independent.

I'm thinking to send her to one of those holiday programme which teach student how to be more responsible and concentrate in their studies.

                      Any recommendation? :?:

lolz. my boy is going P3 next yr and i still need to remind him to do spelling or tingxie everyweek, else he will just browse the words the day before and be contented to just get 70-80%.
