Thanks for the welcome! dd's last paper is on Mon. So sian! Why can't they let it finish in one week. Got to stuck @ home on Halloween!

so far, dd said EL & Maths are okie. She is strong in Maths & ave in the rest.

What is your paln for your P6s next year?

Currently, dd is in a student care. They did quite a good job these yrs.
But I am toying for 1-to-1 tuitions for her next year.

Sigh. DS1's last paper - HMT.... is on 8 Nov. :stupid: so, we can't even enjoy nx Friday's public holiday. sianz.

That is exactly what my kid said too as he is having his HMT today. He was asking me if he can failed that subject since it is not counted. I told him the same thing what you did. But still I have to remind him daily.

My colleague told me that if u take HMT for 'O' Levels, you get 2 points deducted from L1R5 ? Then it will make a HUGE difference when selecting Junior College.

But that is like suffering for another 5 yrs (from P6 to S4). My ds1 is also struggling with HMT. But he wants to go HCI....and if he does well for PSLE for HMT, got points deducted. So, that's his motivation lor.[/quote]

Marathon exam , paper after paper is really testing one stamina.My ds is really low in stamina now.

Her exam will end at next Wednesday.

So far EL Paper 2 done. DD said paper quite ok and she still left with amost an hour for checking.

Hi Mummies,

Reading your posts about Higher MT makes me worried…whether to let son continue with HCL next yr or not.

Exam period which stretches too long is mentally draining (and torture) on the child and parents. I remember my son had Oral exams 1 month before the Paper 1…followed by another few weeks before Paper 2. This year, Oral, Paper 1 and Paper 2 are all held in October. A great relief.
The 4 days at home (PSLE marking) was great for doing past year exam papers.

I was also facing this issue last year. To take or not to take? If to take must appeal and chances of approval is high. At the end we decided not to take in view of P5 workload as well as dd CL Compo. is also not so impressive. However, when come to P5, her CL techer want them to complete all exercises regarding of P5 or P6 CL or HCL in the 知识报. Therefore in fact dd is also learning beyond normal CL.

We are not regretted with the decision make and also if dd do well in PSLE she is still stand a chance to take HCL in Secondary School.

The above are our experience.

I've heard several comments regarding the heavy AND difficult workload at P5. My friend's son is in P5 and he told me not to let my boy take HCL bcos it's really very tough and there is so much 笔记 to copy that the teacher doesn't allow them to go to the loo. :!: :!:

Perhaps at that time her interest on CL is still not so strong as well as we want to spend more time in Maths.
