Your daughter's teacher has HIGH expectations !!! 32/40 for COMPO ???
Yeah, that's what was expected, to a few very Good Ones, possible to score as long as not write :offtopic: ....
They are supposed to be in the Top HCL Class ....

One thing though, my DD uncannily said to me the other day, \" Mummy, even though some of my Classmates (in HCL banding class) score badly in compo in our class, but they are still much better in CL than others in the Next banding Class ....\"
Guess it's rather competitive, they re-shuffled the children every year according to their grades every year to different banding classes ....

                Hi Tinkerbelle,

It's indeed a million dollar question...my personal feel is if HCL helps him ä½œę–‡, then I'll let him continue with it next year. But if it's going to affect his other subjects which are equally crucial, then I'll let him drop it. With all subjects getting tougher, no point making things even harder.
                Thank you for your advice.
                Hi Janet,
All the best with your decision. Does your DS intend to go to a SAP sec sch?

                Hi Funx3,
It is indeed very competitive and stressful for the students to maintain their standards when schools band them according to their grades annually. Heard from a friend that some schools don't stream end of P5 so students remain in the same class for P5 & P6. How I wish my DD's school won't stream end of P5. šŸ˜‰

                    Hello Tinkerbelle,

Yes, I actually also wish that DS 's school has no yearly streaming.Unfortunately,it will continue up to Pri six.

Competition aside, the hard found friendship that build over a year, always subject to changes in class. So, yearly, renewd friendship , that is what I see when there is streaming yearly.

                    Have a pleasant week. :celebrate:

No Such Luck for my DD.
In fact, I believe the school advised the students who cannot achieve the 75 Precentile grade to drop the subject in P6 .... On one hand it's competitive, on the other, .... to ensure GOOD Results in PSLE ?????

However, My Gal does not stressed herself over much on this subject, just try to finish the Homework assigned, and Did not DO anything more on it ....
In fact, the day before her HCL and CL exam is the most RELAX for her .... She told me, \"Nothing to revised-lah ..... Just go in to do exam can already ....\"
