My dd is in Tien Hsia and she is doing great in HCL because Tien Hsia follows the MOE syllabus very closely and she was drilled through the examination questions week after week till my dd complained that it was too boring. I put a gamble next year in moving her to Berries for P2. Hopefully it will work as well or even better for her. If not I will have to move her back to Tien Hsia.

I am contemplating to switch mine from Berries to Tien Hsia (or private one-to-one) for her P4 next year. I find for her P3, berries coverage is not intensive enough for HCL, I have to cover most job. I review Tien Hsia materials, and agree that they are abit dry, but very close to school text context.

She started with Berries at P2. She was alright throughout that level.

I will try for 2 terms and if alright i will let her stay till end of P2. Look like I will have to move her back to Tien Hsia in P3.

I think it is worth the time to attend the orientation as the principal will give a talk and from there, parents hv a better understanding the expectations of the sch and what the sch will do for the child. JMHO

It shld not b an issue if you walk in w/o a child. Just tell the guard you are here for the orientation. If he asks where's your child, just tell him the child took the sch bus. I doubt the guard will ask anyway, since many children really take the sch bus to go the sch whereas their parents arrive separately to sch.

              Hi david1234,

It’s advisable to make time for the child to attend the orientation…esp since he/she will be able to know the form teacher and classmates, as well as the classroom and school layout.
Although my daughter isn’t attending PH, the principal of her school has requested that parents bring the girls along to familarize themselves.

It is good to attend to get to know the school environment, talk to the form teacher (U should b able to speak to them on any of your concerns), etc

Of course it's good If the child can attend, if they could, to familiarise with the school, and to see their classmates \"In ADVANCE\", Ha-Ha!

Now there is one package collection offering 42 books at 20 pounds...
But they don't offer all the titles at the same time....before x'mas they use to throw out good offer....I got it within 2 weeks...

if you plan to buy in bulk, it is definitely more worth it to purchase from overseas...and also save the 7% GST.

How do you order and deliver the books since they only accept UK or Ireland order online? Am thinking of buying some books there.

Also interested in buying some books from them. Do they accept credit card payment from singapore?

Iirc, they have a quota of only 20 students for P1-P6. Given so few vacancies, unless there are last-min withdrawals there should be no more vacancies by now. It's a Christian environment run by female volunteers from Glory Presbyterian Church next door. They'll have bible sharing daily in the morning.

Nevertheless, there are quite a few student care ctrs around PH. Since only PH & I think RGPS still have double sessions, it'll quite easy to find vacancies in the morning for these student care ctrs.
