As a student, my friends and I had to hide from the jargar after school everytime we want to steal more time with the Apple ][es in the computer room. We had to climb/jump down from the 2nd floor of the building because the gate to the building will be locked. Not a problem although we do get chased by the jargar's mad dogs now and then.

I'm pretty sure the school administrators knew what we were doing but they chose to close an eye. It was part of the growing up process, and boys will be boys. If we are to tighten up school security so that nothing will happen to our students, then NOTHING will HAPPEN for our students, because they live their lives believing that there will always be rules and procedures to guide them.
Hey Chief, you also belong to the climbers club ah? Looks like we have quite a few parents here who love to climb up and down, in and out....... and \"break school rules but safely break la\".

        ksi,

Contrary to popular belief, the level of politicking that goes on in schools should not be underestimated.

Politicking is linked to the stakes.

Agree. But the \"stakes\" are not objective ....

I think some fault lies with the school as well. They need to check all classrooms before closing.Instead of this teacher, if it was a student, I am sure as parents we would have been very nasty and demanded action. As a teacher, she should have been aware of the school procedures. The school on its part should also be responsible for teachers as well as students and ensure that no one remains in the classroom after operating hours.

In yesterday's paper, the person responsible for checking that no one lingers on the school premesis after hours confessed that she did not perform the mandatory check as the school compound was quite large. So maybe this teacher can win after all.

This article is dated 26th October, but it gives a slightly clearer picture of what precipitated her actions.

It answers 1 of the 2 questions I first had in mind:

                    1) How long was she locked out

                    2) Why wasn't there any caretaker making his/her rounds ensuring that no one was 'hanging around' before locking up (the schools that I taught in did)

Seems to me that it may not have been a lack of \"on the spot\" thinking skills that caused her to do what she did.

Personally, I tend to take what is reported in the papers sometimes with a pinch of salt.

You can go through the internet search. There are many websites available on the internet from where you can get the rules and regulations of personal injury insurance.
