I have inadvertently included 'for', but with or without 'for' is ok for this case. -

Thanks, but it sound a little funny without \"for\" and yet I can't remember if there is a need for the word \"for\".

\"If \"except\" is used after words such as all, every, no, everything, anybody, nowhere, etc., except and except for can both be used. Otherwise, we usually use except for\".
No wonder it sounded a little funny without \"for\".
