Actually except for choping the school bus, you can OTOT buy

Uniform - at bras Basah (Shangihai uniform)
      Books - order online

R u going alone? cos 1 carton of books, plus 2-3 bags of uniform + holding your kiddo hands --- No joke...

School bus, we will not need.

      Sorry, err..what's OTOT?

You mean for the Uniform they won't set shop in school for a few days? The kids will have to try the sizes on the spot... i can imagine the queue will be super long...

Books can order online then pickup from school on another date?

DH will be going too.. .I didn't tell him that it was optional for him 😉

Thanks for the heads up. :celebrate:

U reckon the $200 - $300 that gaagaa mentioned will be enough for the books and uniforms?

OTOT = Own Time Own Target.
Sorry, this is an old army lingo...

Uniform - parents will try this try that on the spot, queue will be long. Try shirt, then try pants, then try PE T shirt, then try PE shorts, no good, repeat the cycle again... :!:

So if you can afford the time, you might want to OTOT buy at Bras Basah Shangai Uniform shop. I think they open a few days at the school as well. But you must adhere to their timing.

For books, same thing, going thru the list and check if got missing item, cannot decide want to buy this textbook, cannot decide how many exercise book to buy.... :!:

Unless you and DH split the job that day, you will spend a long time there.
      My 2 cents....

        ic ic.. OTOT..got it! 😉

I saw for other schools the booklists were given in advance. I find that that is better, since those who want to compare price / get 2nd hand / consider whatever other option can do the thinking at home.. i think that would be more efficient and the queues can move much faster...

As for uniform size... get the kids best fitting clothes to school, compare and find the closest size. If want then just put on awhile, on liao go make payment... err... got fitting room to try the pants and short somemore?

I hear already i also scared of the queue... i guess i will go OTOT :celebrate:

don't you know, many parents will start to think what if their kid outgrown the uniform, so should it be 1 set size xx, 1 set size xxx, 1 set size xxxx....
But come to think of it, since forum is so commom among parents, maybe many of them already knew the long queue and so will OTOT buy outside, resulting no queue on that day??!!

Thanks to RRMummy & ttyh… I also duno what is OTOT until my DH told me and said he knew this back in his army days…haha…

For the book list, I didn’t know it’s not a standard list, still need so many decisions? Uniform I guess 2 sets will do, right? Think don’t need changing room, just let them wear something tight fitting on that day and try on the uniform on the spot. Will they have a few stations for trying out the sizes to speed up the whole process?

RRMummy, we need to be there by 8.30am right to listen to some talk first, right?

For the past 5 years, I have been getting the textbooks from the school. You can place your order before the school closes for hols and return to the school to "collect" the books. Normally, not a lot of people at the queue unless is for p1 (in 2011).

The school offers a one-stop services for buying textbooks and exercise books etc.

btw, there is a shop at Jurong west St 51 block 504 which also sells Rulang uniform. Next to a cake shop.

For those coming to Rulang as p1 next year, the current prefects are getting ready to welcome them. The school wants all p5 prefects to return to school for a briefing this Sat.

                      Hi gaagaa!!

Yup 8.30am. I received a letter from Rulang yesterday. Did you get it yet?

The orientation will be from 830 - 945am. Parents and children will be split. Books and Uniform will only be sold after 10am.

in the letter, the class assigned is also included. :dancing:

DD said she has 3 other classmates going to Rulang.. asked her to check with them if they will end up in the same class 😉
