The CL teacher called a while ago to tell me she has given the paper 2 to my boy today.

When I asked did my boy pass the compo component, the first thing she said is cannot tell parents the marks. Hiaz, why like that? Anyway, her review is that the sentences need more elaboration and more good phrases shld be used, explanation more detailed. Luckily my boy does not hv the EL translated in CL problem. Phew. Tips for improvement: read more (as usual, the same tip).

so the correct answer in her mind is \"the plant will not die and will continue to grow and reproduce with the seeds in part A.\"

        Well thought of.

for Sci qn 34a, I remember last year's SA2 paper, there is one MCQ ask them to count how many mammals in the picture. the teacher's answer is 7 (5 animals and two children). I thought human is not belong to the animal kingdom, how can the humanbeing be classified under the animals.

Were the mammals drawn well? I dun even recognise the ANT in this particular qn. And only one arrow pointing to one ANT, who knows what the other two are although the pic is exactly the same :x

My boy used ruler to measure, but still thought it is a right angle. so it is a bad question.

No offence, but I think you shld ask your boy to show you how he used the ruler to check the angle. I need to teach my boy how to place the ruler properly so as to get a proper measurement.

About this type of counting how many animals question, would you gals n guys consider the two children as a collective group and count them as 1 animal - Humans?

I used a protractor to measure, and its a right angle! Handdrawn angle, should give an allowance of +/- 1-2 deg.

not sure. but that is not the point. the point is it is very difficult to gauge anything less than 1 degree error without a protractor. i believe the aim of the question is to test whether the pupil understands the less than 90 degrees concept, not whether their eye can tell between 89 and 90 degrees, so they should make the angle more obvious if they are testing concept...

                      comfy:
First of all, I would like to thanks Trapwithin, Jennifer,Perwinklejoy, Markfch, Ijj and E3 for your heartfelt :congrats: . I appreciate that. Actually excited and also quite paisay to announcement it here. That why only mentioned it in the GEP thread.

๐Ÿ˜ข I can't participate in the science and math qns as my dd has taken them to school else I will definitely have alot to say. Like Jennifer has said, must not treat PH papers too serious else can really :x . I, too, am going to put my faith on the PSLE papers as the qns must clear and with a purpose else lot of parents would complain.(tons of them will appear in the forum). ๐Ÿ˜‰
I have not decided yet, anyone any suggestion which gep sch to send my dd to? Pl, yes my dd is in CH (I thinik someone ask) and 14 in CH got in.
No need to be paiseh. We're truly happy for you & proud that more than 1/3 of CH 3 qualified for GEP. Which sch to select? Hmm, that's a very good problem to have. But for this qn I think it's better to ask those ่ฟ‡ๆฅไบบ like vlim or vk2010. Btw, I read that NYPS GEP classes are super hot so not all who applies can get in. Another round of balloting in store? Keke.
