      duriz:
Ah Bee, it has kopi & alcohol in it.
A lady friend once made tiramisu for me. But instead of kopi and rum/brandy, she just killed 2 birds with 1 stone and used Kahlua.

It's the best tasting tiramisu I ever had because it's 温暖牌! 😉

Before anyone gets any wrong idea, that was waaaayyyyy before Mrs BigD came along. :imanangel:

          duriz:
          Basic Tiramisu Recipe

about 20 lady's fingers bisuits, dip layer & spread twice cover
2 shots (2 ounces; 60 mL) prepared espresso mix & chill
1/2 cup (120 mL) prepared coffee
1 cup (240 mL) heavy whipping cream whisk to stiff peaks fold
          1 lb. (455 g) mascarpone cheese mix
          1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
3 tablespoons (44 mL) rum (or brandy)
          cocoa powder
          shavings of unsweetened dark chocolate
I like to think I make a mean Tiramisu for the family. My kids and dh love it!! Actually it's about the only dessert I make

To tweak duriz's recipe so that it is kids-friendly, I:

replace the coffee with hot chocolate (or milo if u don't have hot chocolate)
replace the rum or brandy with 2-3 tablespoons of kahlua (liquer)

It's a wonderful dessert and you can easily make that with the kids on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Chill the tiramisu in the fridge and you have a perfect dessert for family dinner. 😉

            This eatery is longer around

The eatery sadly was no longer around.
            Was there on 25th March.
It had been replaced by a beauty parlour at its site.[/quote] 😞

Passed by the Goldhill area recently and don't recall seeing Al Forno there. What about its East Coast branch? Is that a bit too far from your place?

So Goldhill one is no more…how sad. East Coast is definitely out of the way for me.

                  Oh well…back to GWC…

BigD you make for Mrs BigD lah. Not difficult. Homemade one can cater to one's taste summore. Alcoholic ones for you and the wifey, non alcoholic ones for the kids. 😉

I like their desserts. They serve per cup and do take aways. Their apple pie is nice too.

                      Happy eating!
Didn't know they serve good desserts. Are they at the cold storage side or the other side of shop houses?
