Frankly, I was wondering about the mad rush to generate the result slips for the report books after the dialogue session next Monday with the updated classes.
At least I think for P1s, their results slips may have been printed. Cos my dd came back and told me that FT asked them to insert a piece of paper into the report book and thereafter return the report book to her. But my dd said can't tell which class she's going to.
But then again, the slip of paper could just be personal particulars of the child. :scratchhead: -
[quote="E3"]E3 reporting…
Thank you for reporting, E3. So, next year PHPPS will using this new system?
My ds’s FT already told them the class position from No.1-No.5. -
E3:
Hi, I've not received any SMS but I will call d office on Monday morning to find out. If I attend, I will update u all!
Yes, I remember that. Periwinklejoy, pench? Hmm...call up the school office on Monday...something I dread doing...:stupid:, but maybe you can get something out from them...ie if you can afford the time to attend. My gutfeel is P's mind is more or less set on this arrangement for the class banding and names.Jennifer:
Janet must be busy with caring for her boy now. Hope the ops has bn successful n her boy is doing well now. Must be painful going under the knife at this young age, heartache ah. -

Top 80 will do S-banding (alternating positions) into two top classes based on level ranking....
The 1s and 2s will not be the top classes, the top might be the last two classes instead - Responsibility 10 and Responsibility 11.[quote]
Frankly, after So Many Pages of the Thread on this Issue of Re-Naming of Classes to Camouflage which is the Best Class ....

Sort of. The intention was to put the better classes near the end. She mentioned class number 10 is a good number to assign the 'best' class cos it signifies 'perfect score', however not all levels will have at least 10 classes.Now the Secret is Out of the Bag!

The purpose mainly is to not have any 'worst' class, that's why after the top 80-80 are S-banded into 4 classes, the remaining kids will be spread out (S-banded) evenly among the remaining classes. -
E3:
for p1 parents, less stress for one year but advice is not to totally switch off during this period but to make sure the kids build a good foundation in both languages (EL and CL).

for the rest of parents, no much different as it will still be as competitive as before. school was probably killing 2 birds with one stone - collage class and getting rid of 'Patience' effect...not to forget subject banding and differentiated worksheet...
