Helo Mummies,

Hi Leanne
I heard from one friend why the parent will see the big different in P5 exam instead of P4.
Reason is P4 exam is being set to test most of the basis concepts so those still cannot make it will be recommended to take foundation subjects in P5.
As such in P5 parent will be shocked to see the result that compare to P4.
I think what she said is quite true.

Hi LeanneHelo Mummies,
When is the last day of your school term?
Just heard ds the last day is actually wednesday, which is also the prize giving day.
Do you know your child ranking in school?
Cheers
Leanne
DD school last day will be next Thursday.
The teacher did not reveal much in their ranking but only mentioned about 5 - 7 pupils will need to change the class next year.

Yes. It's quite sad for the affected pupils to change class especially in end of P5 and they need to adapt to new class next year with PSLE also in place. -

I'm Really Surprised the Class Changes affects the children / Parents so Much. Thought only change of school does that ....

Does Your Child's School Practice Subject Banding? i.e. Kids are Grouped according to each of their Subject Strengths and taught together.
Eg. Kids strong in CL are Grouped to CL1, CL2, etc
but Same Kid in say CL1, may be Grouped to Maths MA3 ....
So they still learnt together even if they R posted to different classes.
My Gal is in 2nd Class in school, but with subjects banding, she still meet and attend classes with her 5 Best friends who R spread from 1st to 4th Class ....
They Still celebrate each others B-Day, Go for Outings, and visit each Others Home Frequently .... -
Hi Brenda,
Yes, I agreed.
For those who worked very hard in pri six, will see a mark difference in pri six.As in high 70s to 90s, ESP in math.
So, jiayou, people...

Different class for each year has its pro and con.
My child in p3 to p5 has always been in the same type of class.
Unforutnately, this year, those its the best class this year, peers that he mixed with are very unfocus kind, so ended up not too good a thing. On the contrary, another child from second best class, ended up more focus and did better this term.

My dd during P1 - P4 were in the average class and she managed to move to the first class during the P5. Her form teacher is very good and uses to encourage them and share with the class a lot of life experience as well as the important events in Singapore like 369 cases etc
I hope her form teacher will be following them to P6 and hopefully dd will stay at the same class too.
Best Regards

Hi Funx3
DD school screening the pupils based on EMS results and they only need to change class based on the MT that they are being allocated to.
