This largely depends on the upbringing of the child. Before the child enters formal schooling to be academically challenged, their personality traits and character have more or less been developed. Confucius says, \"三岁定终身\" in the past, furthermore nowadays kids are even more exposed and have better nutrition, their cognitive functioning is more advanced. Therefore be it good in studies or not, kids have already been exposed enough to have a subconscious on how they should be behaving. As they grow older, their environment will further mould them, so putting them in the right environment and continually inculcating the right values from home will be important.

Haven't heard from our regular contributor Janet for a while. Wonder how did the ops go? As a parent of a P4 kid, I'm sure she'll have a lot of things to share.

          Hi markfch,
My son's op went well...at least the worst is finally over...he was discharged yesterday and now resting at home. Now on soft diet.
Thank you for all your prayers and well-wishes.

Hubby received an SMS from Pei Hwa last night...it seems ALMIGHTY asked interested parents to attend a briefing on 15/11 regarding the change of names for the classes for P5.

Collected son's report book on Friday...other than his Chinese which dropped, the rest are ok. His teacher recommended him to take 4 'standard' subjects ie English, Maths, Science and normal Chinese.

Janet!! Happy to have you back. Am glad to know your ds’s op went well and that he is resting. Will continue to keep him in prayers and may he have a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, take your time to catch up on the latest news on PH thread.

It's been a crazy and hectic 😢 time since Wednesday night (before his op) until Saturday. I accompanied son into OT and left after he knocked out.
I did the day shift while hubby did the night shift. Learnt to clean his stitches and made sure he stuck to liquid diet during his stay. He continued to bug the nurses to discharge him. It was the worse time of his life - to be hooked up to glucose and not able to move, talk nor eat. He has 'regained his freedom' now that he's discharged but cannot eat solids and limping still. Other than that, I am relieved he is at home.

Can understand your relief and his. My dd was hospilatised twice, when she was 4 years old and 5 years old. Although she was quite coorperative in there, but nothing beats coming back to the warmth of the home.

Any Parents Receive Similar One for P6 Next Year?
                  We Have Not.
Or Is P6 Next Year gonna be the \"LAST HISTORICAL BATCH\" OF CHARITY, FAITH, etc Class in PH?

Just wondering why ALMIGHTY wants to re-name the P5 classes. :?
There are different combinations of subjects from P5...1) HCL, CL, English, Maths and Science. 2) CL, English, Maths and Science. If I didn't remember wrongly, there is also Foundation level for Maths and English.

Son and I are so relieved to be discharged. I fell sick yesterday with throat infection and fever due to insufficient rest. But recovering now. Nothing beats the feeling of HOME SWEET HOME.
