Anyone has kid that are p5 in 2010?

I just happen to find a tutor today, quite coincidentally, that has experience with problematic kids and kids that have problems focussing, like my ds. Hope it works out.


My ds has agreed that he needs some help, altho' I'm not sure subconsciously if he truly believes and is willing deep down inside to accept help.

Afraid we have no time for camps this hols.

This is a good news as your ds has agreed to receive some help. Camps can always do it next year after.

I am suspecting that they might have their 1st set of prelims in April... worrying, yah? Bc that was how it was during my elder ds' time.

I think is up to individual shcool's decision.

I am aslo surprised to know this. Just check through the topics that cover in 6A nad 6B:

6A
Algerbra*
Angles in Geometric Figures
Nets
Fractions
Raio
Percentages

6B
Speed*
Circles*
Pie Charts*
Area And Perimeter*
Volume of Solids And Liquids


*These are new topcis (I just flip through) and in this case I guess they can move very fast to 6B.

[/quote]It is different in different schools. And often the practice is different in different years due to biennial competitions that the students participate in, for instance.

Think in her school, normally stick to SA1 in end Apr - May ....

Just check her Inter-school Gym competition schedule - around 16th to 19th Apr Next year ....

Yes, in my dd's school last time, only SA1 in May too. And then they have Prelims end Aug and early Sept. They had 2 prelims - 1 set is their own school's, the other set is set for all CHIJ schools in Singapore. I think some other schools like the Hokkien Huay Kuan schools have similar practice.

But during my ds1's time last year (non-major competition year), they had 3 prelims - apr, june, aug. This year is major competition year, prelims start in may as usual SA1. However, next year is similarly a non-major competition year, so maybe it might be same practice as my older boy's time last year.
