Beside the text books, my sister in law also wanted the used Maths Activity book and CL Activity books as she said these can save her headache if my nephew comes across any problem.ksme:
Normally I donate it to the NTUC free textbook program so was wondering if I need to keep this year for PSLE.

Hello,
I throw everything.
I know for science, I should keep but I also throw.I know in pri six , there are so many worksheets, etc and I will never look back. For pri three and four science books,or even pri five, I keep in the storeroom, cos i dont think i will refer.
For math, all past year papers i also throw, books too, that is pri five level. As have mentioned, pri six have too many things coming in, I dont want to keep for the sake of keeping.

Hi Ksmeksme:
Can I ask the experienced parents here whether we need to keep P4, P5 textbooks for PSLE Chinese exams revision? I know Science we should keep but what about Chinese?
Many thanks for answering my question.
So far I never keep. Not sure how about other parents. -
Hello mummies,
Any regrets in pri five level?Yes for me, I bought too many chinese assessment books and never touch.Focus too much on math.I realised that doing math is learn to process and understand it and not just do and forget. This is something that DS has not captured the art of doing math.Hope before psle, he is able to see it, so dont have to do math till FACE GREEN GREEN.He partial doing it by route learning and half processing…If process skill is there, do not need to spend so much time on it and focus on Chinese instead.

My opinion in maths, there are some models (ratio etc) that take the longer time to remember the application. However once the child grasp the method well then it will be easier to solve the maths questions.
So far the weaker area dd done was CL compo. However I'm still happy that she was ranked no. 18 in the School Level of CL may be due to she did quite well in CL P2. Plan to let her read most CL story books (xiao mao ri ji etc) as I find this is the better way to improve in the CL Language. One book contains about 72,000 CL words. -

I am following this thread faithfully, and hope to pick up as much valuable tips as I can to prepare my son who's going to P5 next year. I think I've bought many P5 assessment books too (yup kiasu as usual
) A friend told me not to buy too many as there is no time to touch them. I've only bought 4 sets of CL assessment books for the tutor and to cover CA1/SA1/SA2.
Leanne, would you be able to PM me the titles of CL assessment books pls ? Maybe I can check them out and get some from you. Thanks. -
Leanne:
I filed up son's CA/SA exam papers since P1...kept up his Eng and Maths textbooks. Dumped his Eng, Maths and Science workbooks/activity books and Higher Chinese textbooks. Happiest time of the year for me is to do spring cleaning after SA2.Hello,

You can zoom into your boy's weaker area.
I think shou ce is a must.
Brenda,
I may just get a one to one tutor, and talk to her about her school topic and do some close passage chinese thrilling cos I dont have the stamina to teach all.I want to be a director, just supervise....lol
