      Leanne:
Has she been reading chinese story book all the time?

      DS is everything english novel.

She read a lot of 小白龙 and 哥妹俩 etc. However, I find the xiao mao ri ji has the better content and structure and so happen she loves it.

        I agreed with you.

I dont know why ds has the language foundation but he just refused to read.

Is this a reading habit or what?I cannot understand.

          Hi Leanne

DD just told me the boys in her class prefer 马小跳 to xiao mao ri ji. I read one xiao mao ri ji and has a feeling seems more suitable for girls. Just my 2 cents thought.

Can I ask the experienced parents here whether we need to keep P4, P5 textbooks for PSLE Chinese exams revision? I know Science we should keep but what about Chinese?

Many thanks for answering my question.

              Hi Ksme

So far I never keep. Not sure how about other parents.

              I don't keep.

命题作文 easier to write out of point, unless learnt the skill to turn around as a plot for something else etc

看图作文 always recommended by CL teachers, less risky of getting out of point

a good CL / HCL teachers (including tuition teachers) would be able to stress the skills how not to get out of point
My Gal Say the Topic for the HCL 命题作文 in the SA2 is more \"CHALLENGING\",
The Other Compo Topic something on Holiday, Very Boring, Not much Points to Write so Difficult to Score ....
But Somehow One Boy in Her Class Still Write out-of topic ....

For the 20 over Majority in her Class who wrote on the 命题作文, Everyone was out-of-Topic ???? Except One Gal .... :????

So Guess the Topic was \"Rather Narrow\", and Manage to \"TRICK\" Almost Everyone to Write Out-of-Topic ....

MOE is fully aware of this issue as such in New Chinese CME Pupils' Book P6, there is a topic of 应变能力 teaching the child how to handle stress and challenging from PSLE. Some helping number were also provided.
Do you think they will have time to do those subjects?? I was laughing at myself when buying schoolbooks and also getting the soc studies, art, music, cme books in the booklist. I think it's such a great joke, bc in my elder boy's time last year, none of these were touched. They did not have any lessons on these subjects the whole year but at the end of the year, their report book showed A for every single one of these subjects. Really \"for show\". But I still bought \"just in case\". After this next year, I will do major throwing away of ALL the primary school books already, since it will be the last PSLE for our family until 10 years later.

                    Hi Leanne

I would say is up to individual's expectation.

To me, for Language, marks above 85 are consider good. If above 90 will be wonderful.

Actually through the years, ds chinese has hovered around 85 to 88, just wonder, is it lack of reading?

A friend girl picked up reading and see that she starts to hit 90s.So, that makes me 'wake up\"

                      Cheers

You got the point. So far I saw New Chinese CME Pupils' Book P5 only first few pages written. Social Study Activity book 5B still at home.
