Thanks for the info Tinkerbell!! πŸ™‚

Good that pacific bkstore has all the books.. πŸ™‚

Oh yea, another thing, for girls taking catholic values, do they still need to purchase moral education books? Erm.. actually I can't rem which lesson whether moral education or which.. πŸ˜‰
            Hi autumn82,
Yes, gals taking Catholic Vaues will also need to buy Civics & Moral Education (CME) book. CME (hao gong ming) is compulsory for all students and will be conducted according to your selected Mother Tongue.

I just received the letter regarding the uniform, books and transport... Luckily all not done together on the day of orientation *phew* πŸ™‚

Noticed a few changes this year. The uniform vendor and sch bus vendors are not going to the sch during orientation day this year??
Last year, the uniform vendor was there even though the P1s wore uniforms to sch for orientation. :scratchhead: Maybe for last minute purchases. Sch bus vendors were also there to facilitate arrangement and payment.

I would have thought that it would be more convenient for parents to buy uniforms and arrange for sch buses during orientation. No need to make another trip to the uniform shop at Lor 1, especially if the kids need to try the uniforms on. However, with all payments to be made in 1 day, :moneyflies:

Don't the P1 need to pay $60 cash for gymnastics fees? If the sch waive the gym fees, then you guys are so lucky. πŸ˜‰

I just called the bus service personnel... apparently they will also be at the orientation this Sat...

I noticed there is a specified date for P1 to walk in to buy the textbook in Nov, any idea why?? I thought of going to Pacific Bookstore to get the stuff on Sat after the orientation, is it possible?

The bookshop at MCS has designated dates for walk-ins for different levels to minimise waiting time. Even with designated dates, the queue can be long depending on what time you go.

Sch bookshop won't be open on Orientation Day so you won't be able to buy textbooks on Sat.

If you plan to buy textbooks from sch book shop, it would be better to pre-order online and self-collect. After ordering online, you just select MCS bookshop as your preferred point-of-collection and your preferred date of collection. At least when you get there, everything will be ready for you. You will just need to check through the items with the staff. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for a long time for them to look for the books and pack the books. Usually, the staff are teenage students who are only working temporarily so some don't know where the books are kept.

Called the school and I was told that the gymnastic fees will be payable at a later date if our girls wish to do gym... but I thought this is a compulsory PE program?? If this is so, we have to pay eventually...

Sure..sure.. is your dd gonna take sch bus?

yes she is taking the school bus to and fro school...

I am also staying in Bishan St 13 and my gal will be on school bus. Just contacted the driver and he said its around $50 this year, next year should have some minor fee adjustment.[/quote]
I called the bus vendor and was told it's $55 for us, we staying at Bishan St 22... btw, this is 50% off my girl's school bus fees for our Pre School so we aren't complaining...

Yes, gym is compulsory for PE prog. Maybe this year can pay through Edusave account with the PE3 prog.
