I give one classic example. In SA1 for P1 this year, they have a comprehension question which asked something like \"how do they feel?\"

my son wrote \"they feel happy\" and was marked wrong (not even half a mark gievn) because the teacher said correct answer is \"they are happy\".

To be honest i still have a hard time accepting this. if i sat for the exam, I would have got it wrong myself, not to mention P1 kid.

:!: Well... it would make a big difference if the answer is \"they feel stupid\" versus \"they are stupid\". If I'm a Science teacher, I would have graded the teacher's answer wrong because the answer of \"They are happy\" does not objectively answer the question.

Since when teachers/HODs have their brains so wired to 'PSLE standard of marking' that they have become inflexible ?
For HMT, 39/50 isn't bad at all even at P3 level.

I thought so too. Esp for this SA2 paper 2. The 2 types of OE compreh has each a \"What will u do/What do u think\" qns which I personally feel is kinda of tough for a P3 to word out his/her thoughts.

I guess the parent who wrote must have her/his kid in CH3. Very competitive one...
Hope that that his/her kid is not one of those who are moving to GEP schools.

For information, 15 kids were selected for GEP from CH3. one kid chose to stay in PH while 14 confirmed moving to GEP schools. Majority chose NYPS while a few chose RGPS.

Wow! php, I am amazed at your efficiency in gathering info. What else do you know? Do share.

I am just wondering will all surely be accepted to their choice of school or will MOE posts them to other GEP school with vacancies if their first choice is full?

i feel honoured to have chiefkiasu's support in this. or shall i say \"i am honoured?\"

Since this is only ChiefKiasu you are talking about here, \"I feel honoured\" would suffice as an answer. If it is LKY, your answer has better be \"I am honoured\".

                    Hi Parents

We had a very successful event, Living In The Ocean Sleepover Camp, at Underwater World on 16 - 17 Nov 2010. Both fathers and kids enjoyed themselves. No of participants : 50 pax through invited basis only.

The next re-run will be on 7 to 8 Jan 2011. Target participant : 25 fathers with their kids (appro 50 pax).

For soon-to-be P1 parents, you can sign up for the event during the P1 Orientation Day. For the rest of parents who are interested, let me know and we can send you the invitation.

can I ask where's the hall? Orientation's tomorrow, and we'll prob be rushing there.. Is there only 1 block at PH? Hall's on 4th floor rite? DH was the one who did the registration, but when I ask him for directions to the hall, he just said 'can't remember'

So will the change in class names affect all levels? incl P1 rite? Good thing this kiasu mommy hasn't finished labeling everything.. πŸ˜„

yes, 4th floor... right in front of the lift lobby....it will be quite crowded tommorrow, so probably take the staircase will be much faster...take the opportunity to train your kid, the kids will have to use the staircase daily...not allow to use lift without permission..
