Actually Lorna Whiston is my favourite out of all...but the school fees' really ex and hb doesn't think our little toddler needs to go to such an expensive school 😞

I thought LSH is not cheap either. :scratchhead:

Hee, ya, not cheap either...but at least it's $620 cheaper, which hb finds its ALOT

            Hi lhy686,

My child is 2.5 yrs old now so he will be enrolled in N1 next year.

My hubby and I both lilked the place. We liked the food menu as they use natural food and not processed food. Moreover, we are quite delighted to know that they baked their own pastry as well.

I was quite skeptical about the curriculum as I am not sure how beneficial & effective a literature based curriculum is. However, I do like that there are lots of hands on activity and a lot of the times they teach through playing.

I agree it’s not cheap but I have looked at the other choices around that neighbourhood and it seems to be a better choice.

Another school is opening at mountbatten square. So I’m gonna check it out too.

              Hi both

My son is 18 mths old and I live in Geylang so yeah LSH Mountbatten has the perfect location! Unfortunately we tried and it’s not suitable for our kid. The school seems chaotic during bath, meal time, i think just too many kids. Maybe my boy is the active sort so definitely cannot fit into the environment where the kids were jus made to sit still.

lhy686, may I know how much is half and full day for Lorna Winston after subsidy?

Have you guys heard of Cherie Hearts knowledge Xplorer at Katong?

              Thanks.

                Hi Partyof5,

My child is also very active. How do they make your child sit still? Do you think the teachers scream & shout at the children? What I was told by the principal is that they have a No Shouting & Screaming rule for the teachers.

                  Hi jsmom,

Heehee, so if we were to enrol our kids together, they should be in the same class!

Ya, I'm also unsure of the curriculum, but then again, i guess we'll have to try out before knowing.

I saw from outside the ChildFirst@Mountbatten Sq. Seems vibrant and interesting. But I'll need to start my boy from next week, so that option will be out for me since they're not opened yet.

Ah! I went during their bath, meal time actually. Actually the situation seems to be almost the same everywhere i went. I find it still controllable and alright to me. 2 teachers were with the kids who are having lunch, and another 2 or 3 helping out with the bath. They were friendly to us and my boy as well...that's why impression was quite good.

My boy is also the super active kind...will run around and jump here and there. I saw the teachers asking the kids to sit down, but definitely not in a harsh or fierce manner...just firm.

Nope, haven't heard of Cherie Hearts knowledge Xplorer at Katong 😄

                      Hi jsmom,

The teachers / principal will ask the children to sit down in a very firm tone. I saw a teacher walking a few kids over to sit down with the rest as well. But that's just the scene we saw when we were there...not sure if this happens when no parents were around

When me and hb were there, we didn't hear the teachers shout nor scream. It's more like a louder voice with firm tones coz the centre is really busy with kids having lunch, bathing etc...so the teachers will understandably need to raise their voices to be heard.

                        Hi lhy686,

I guess the teachers will need to raise their voices to be heard. As long as they don’t scream at e children, it shld b fine.
Our kids will b in e same class if we both enroll! So you must decide by this week? Hope you can find the school you like. I have been pondering for a long time.
