Do you mean his class is only 2 children to 1 tutor ?

Your 2 boys are doing HCL. HuaCheng offers both CL and HCL classes ? How do you find HauCheng’s HCL standard and tution material compared to the school standard.

Ya, only 2 students to 1 teacher for the time being. The other child is also my boy’s classmate. Their usual practice is 3 students to start a class. Becos both of us had waited since start of this year, the centre very kindly allowed this time 2 students to start the class. Hopefully more will join in later.


Hua Cheng has HCL and NC classes. There is an assessment test to take. Purpose of the test is to gauge the child’s std. Both my boy and the classmate are abt the same std with same weaknesses in sentence construction and OE compreh. So the tutor is able to give more attention in these two aspects.

I switched to Hua Cheng becos the std is more on par with my boy’s sch. Definitely no regrets.

Heard from my boy that one of his sch classmate attends Hans Language at BTSC too, but was different tuition class. He scores the highest paper 2 in sch and he is a non-Chinese :!:

I guess a lot depends on the child’s focus and determination to improve and also a bit of luck with tutor is assigned to the class, not just the center.


Jennifer, any idea why the sign-up at HuaCheng is so low ? You waited few months to start a class ? your boy taking HCL, have you seen/heard anything about their NC classes ?

No idea why, possibly due to centre @ Bt Timah Plaza still new? Most kids started young with other famous centres? Hard to start a class with min. no. of students? Lack of publicity?

There are quite many CL enrichment centres in the area. Beauty World alone has more than 3.

Both my kids are taking HCL, no idea abt their NC classes.

Think so too.

Maybe my P3 boy was still immature then and so we did not see any improvement. Then suddenly the screws and bolts come together into the right places, and wow the lights turned on :lol:

Just want to share my experience with Han. My dd has been with them for two years. Actually I do not really find them very fantastic, but the strange thing is that my dd can always produce good results during her exams. I guess they may have a way of teaching that actually helps my daughter to do well in her exams. I will continue to put her there for next year and monitor how it goes.

No, she did not. Actually the normal class do teach them to write compo but maybe not in depth. Will see her results first. If need, then will put her in the creative writing course. By the way did you put your child in their creative writing course?
