      Hi

Is this thread still alive? I am considering TPY Methodist Church to enrol my girl in their nursery class next year. Any feedback from mummies here?

      Thanks!

          Hi Golfer

You are enrolling your kid for which level? Think 4 hours is for K1/K2? Pre-nursery is only 2 hours. But i think for other kindy, standard is 3 hours.

You be checking out the church's environment?

              Hi peeps

My girl used to be in TPY Church Kindy in N2 early tis year.

She only attended for 3 mths, reason is because we moved house.

Just to share my experience, they will have they morning essembly which last about 15 mins, singing I love Jesus songs and good morning songs, then they will be lead to their respective classrooms.

I attended 1st 2 classes with them, because my girl is a super manja girl then, cannot do without me. But the assistant teacher, Teacher Judy has her ways with manja kids! She managed to pacify her and get her involved in the class.

The teacher managed to get the kids’ attention through her very interesting method.

Personally we are not christians, but the loving environment is what I like abt church kindy. But my parents are nt very happy though… cos my DD will pray before having her food. (this kindy provides snacks and they will pray before food.

Generally, I feel that its a nice environment for lil kiddies…

                Dear Mummies,

Appreciate if you can give feedbacks on the tpy church kindergarten? Any difficulties when your child went to P1? Is their teaching better than PCF? Do they have assesment/story books to act as teaching material or solely base on A4 printout?

Awaiting for the kind feedback. thanks

the school principle told me that comparing to PCF, their teaching was more focus on character building and fundamental learning. Thus some students did not perform well in lower primary levels but did better in upper primary levels because they had better fundamental. :imcool:

the pace of teaching is slow. only started to have spelling in K2. no other home work. be prepared to spend money for private tuitions.

teachers are more caring compared to those in nearby PCF but PCF teachers are better trained in teaching.
most students in MCK are better behaved in class :dancing:

                  K1 and K2 only 3 hours - either 8am-11am or 11am-2pm.

ECA lessons at 10am-11am for afternoon session and 11am-12pm for morning session. THis means that if you child studies in the afternoon session and attends ECA on a particular day, his lesson starts from 10am to 2pm!!! :?

                  school fees higher than PCF.

the newly renovated school is superb.

nearby PCF teachers complaint that they were quite distracted by trying to help some students who came from less fortunate family. :pokeeye:

i chose TPY MCK because the students are more well behaved. 🦆

                    Hi Golfer,

Thanks for your feedback, if that's the case, i worried that my child will have a hard time coping with her school work during her P1. Which means like what you mentioned, private tuition is a must. :slapshead:

I went around to my nearby PCF, quite disappointed with the principal as she could hardly give me a proper introduction of the programme structure.
Yes I do agree that the children seem to look more well behaved.

Currently your child is in which year? Are they still having graduation activity or photo for their K2 classes? What kind of ECA are you referring to? Speech and drama class?

                        This thread seems so quiet.

My boy is in N1 this year and my girl is completing her K2 in this school this year.
Anyone else with their child here?
