      Callie Tan:
Thanks Tinkerbelle for the detailed info. I am also not complaining about the PE lessons... I loved PE lessons when I was in school so I know my girl will too. She will be delighted if I were to tell her this...

I have called the school to check about the parking for tomorrow... They said as long as we are not ridiculously late, there will be no problem in parking. Well, I am concerned becos we are talking about parents of 220 girls... even 2/3 turns up also quite big group, easily 100 cars....
aiyo, great KS parents think alike. I was juz asking DH abt the parking prob is most of us are driving there. Not sure if there are sufficient space for us to park lor.

        Hi P1 (2011) mummies (& daddies),

Enjoy your Orientation Day tomorrow. So exciting, rite!! DD finally heading off to primary sch. πŸ˜„

For parking, if you are early, you can park in the sch compound but parking is limited there. If sch car park is full, you can also park at the Marymount Kindergarten/Church car park (just down the road from MCS). There's a path that leads to MCS.

Worse case scenario, you can also park at the nurseries or Mt. Alvernia (parking fees apply) opposite the sch and walk over to the sch.
        Thanks Tinkerbelle,

        that's our plan. πŸ˜‰

Yup, need to explain to her why her 姐姐 not joining her at her childcare next yr mah. If not, think she will cry when she's at the childcare alone 😒

DD2 won't make a lot of noise but she may b very nagging thru out the whole session. hee....

          Yur DS2 can sit thru?

I think mine will whine & whine after sitting for tt long.. ROFL.. I can't imagine all the parents eyes on me...

That's why still... considering whether or not to bring him along.. ROFL!!!

haha....understand how that feels. Brought DD1 to Australia when she's 10 mths old. Thru' out the 7 hrs flight, she was crying. Luckily the ang mo was v understanding. but sad to say, our fellow chinese (prob nv had kids) was not so lor. they keep giving me the \"long face\". :P[/quote]Blaaahhh... In the end, I didn't attend. I left it to DH to do it. I'm home with DS. πŸ˜‰ It's way too early to bring lil' one along.

Any kind soul wanna update me after the orientation is over? Coz I guess my DH will prob dozed off 1/2..

Yes. There isn't any bus vendors in Sch today. I called one of them and he told me that they were informed by the Sch not to go down today.

              :?

I tried 2 and asked for the route. One of them just asked for my address.
The other told me his route is from Chua Chu Kang - Woodlands - Admiralty - Sembawang.

                      How is the orientation?

It was a pity that the new principal was not there to address us and there were also no Q & A session for us parents. I wanted to ask what to bring for the first day of sch for my DD. Can't possibly bring everythg rite??? :?

A little chaotic in my view. Went to other sch for their sch open hses and was more impressed with other sch's organisation skills lor.

eg. no ushers or enough signage to inform parents where to go first, what to do first, whr to leave our child etc. Most of us were wondering if we missed the step of registration since the letter stated registration begins at 8am.

there shld be bold & clear signage for all the necessary like \"collection of car decal\", \"payment of car decal\", \"submission of xxx forms\" etc.

when the prefects announced the class for parents to follow the respective form teachers, my DD's class (Perseverance) for eg was already gone. We searched high & low for the class signboard but was told they had left (even b4 the announcement). I guess the other parents had looked for their respective class even b4 the announcement. In the end, another admin staff had to lead us there.

During the open hse period, I went to a no of sch & found some of them was v well organised despite the many prog lined up and we were properly informed by the students (upper pri) in charge of each class.

I will also prefer all the necessary vendors to be available on the same day. It is more convenient for us parents. We don't have to make another trip for uniforms, books, bus vendors, student care. Today, only the student care in charge is around.

I guess hiccups were inevitable but juz thot that MCS could do better. Mayb can consider joing the PSG & provide some suggestions for future's orientation day.
                      πŸ˜‰
