All About Full-Time Maids

Should I let her be transferred or should I send her back home? How can we make these irresponsible and poor attitude maids learn their lesson that we employers are no push off and that they can come to Sgp and try their luck. Maids now come and try out and if they dont like, they juz ask to be transferred or return to agency and putting us at the losing end. Pls help to advise me any recommendations for good maids for transfer or agency that you can recommend. Really cant keep her any longer and in a dilemma now that its year end and next year darling son going to P1.

Hi marmum
In my own opinion, you should buy a ticket and sent her home so that other employer wouldn't have to suffer. Hopefully, she will learn her lesson after this.
Previously, my mum hired an indoesian maid and sent her back home after 6mths. Reason being, she discovered her money missing and maid suddenly had a hp. When asked her about her hp, she keep telling us different story. Funny thing is, she rather sent back home than to tell us the truth. When the employer agency heard that she had a hp, they asked her how come they never saw it when checked her baggage (when they first arrived in SG)?
My advise to all those who wish to return/exchange your irresponsible/poor attitude/notti maids, pls get them an air ticket and fly them home. This will help other employers like us parents save a lot of trouble.
I'm glad to say the maid employer agency has been helpful to us. We used Homekeeper @Bt. Timah Shopping Centre, Level 4. At least, they don't insist us to take on a new maid or transfer the maid. Choice is ours.
I saw your previous msg that your son fell and hit the toilet bowl. Our ex-maid instead of looking after my girl, she was watching TV and caused my girl to trip on her leg and head hit down straight on the floor with a loud bang! She was only 1yr old at that time. :x -
Hi Joeyz18
Your myanmar maid doesn't know any chinese?
My colleague myanmar maid knows chinese and is a graduate. There are some who understand but don't know how to speak chinese. So beware when they claimed they don't understand.
My colleague said her maid is very smart, always wait for them to go out then she meetup with her boyfriend. She saw them downstairs when she returned home to pickup something.
We always think our new maid is timid but in actual they are very bold... such as bringing bf and stolen stuff home.Joeyz18:

Hi chatelaine, Thanks for your advise. We have an intention to send her back too as like you said, we cant let her go to other house and harm other families too. Am sourcing for a new maid now and hope that can find one suitable one soon. This morning, she sat in a corner to write her confession letter on what she have done wrong by hubby (as a form of punishment) as I guess there is nothing else we could do to her. She yawned loudly when I walked pass the living room. She saw my girl urine on her toilet bowl but did not clear the urine. She let the spoon I use unwashed thou she rinse the milk bottle that my girl drank this morning. My son's cup was left by the basin unwashed too. Seems like she is showing her attitude of do what she wants. How to handle this kind of situation? Really pissed off but cant do anything to her. Its not fair!!! Am going to Nation as recommended by one forum's mum and would check out Homekeeper too. Would go all out to get a replacement from any agency that has suitable one. Wish me luck in finding one today and send this \"woon shen\" off soon. sigh.............. Its not fair, why employers always at the losing end, MOM should give us some support here.........

My maid is very quiet and initially don’t greet people as well! Then I told agent and they talked to her then she open her golden mouth to say 'yes, mum, gd morning, etc. And she like very choosy on food, don’t like bread, chicken, eat rice and prawn, sotong. Maybe I can try to speak to her in Chinese In future. -

My maids in the past also very choosy with food...but when they like something (usually the spicy or deep fried food), they will eat like there is no tomorrow. My Indon maid told me she doesn't like to eat prawn, seafood, sotong, crab, duck, porridge...but when brought them out once, they ate the crab and licked the chilli.Chatelaine

Hi marmum,
I think you got to check with your present maid agency about the transfer policy? Because some agency will insist you send the maid back to them instead of sending them home straight so that they can deal with it. For me, if I were in your shoes, I doubt very much I will bother to send them home directly. For what? Just send them back to the agent and ask agent's advice what to do, how to take back the 6 months etc.... If you are thinking of changing agent, then you got to check with present agent what you can do too. Specifically any chances of you getting back the upfront loan payment?
All the best!

My Indo. maid loves chicken because in their kampong chicken is rare, mostly they eat vegetables. But she avoids coconut especially those traditional coconut buns that we love. She will refuse to eat them. She dislikes durian and hardly eats them too but I made her try the best type from 717 and she changed her opinion about them. She has also never tried sashimi but we love eating sashimi and watching Japan Hour every Saturday. So we also gave her some sashimi to try. She was quite game though and said the salmon sashimi does not taste like fish at all. kee...hee...hee...

For purpose of looking after kids, it is better to hire a maid who is already married and has her own kid. Then the motherly instincts are all there. Instead of single young girl with no experience at all. There is no guarantee of course but it is a much safer bet.
