Sometimes i wonder is it the pupils themselves are competitive or the teacher. My girl is in 4-10, her FT is super kiasu type, always compare her class with the top class, 4-11. But the FT for 4-11 never do that. I don't like this teacher but many parents requested their kids to be with this teacher should their kids make it to 5-11 next year. To me, too much comparison will make the pupils very tired and lost the fun of learning.

If the teacher is competitive he/ she must be also able to motivate the class to do well else it will only pressurize the kids more. And we as parents also play a critical role. If parents are very kiasu and stress out the kids will be affected.

I understand that there will be an orientation for P1 kids on Nov 23. But unfortunately, I have misplaced the paper from school and can’t recall time of orientation.

Any parent could advise please?

Some info for new students: The school bookshop is open on Saturdays from 9-1pm even during hols. Don’t need to buy books n uniforms on orientation day itself.

Socks are embossed with school name, definately need to buy from school. Shoes r generic black ones, no need to buy there though.

Maths and Chinese books can buy fr popular bookshop but the prices are the same.

Heard a lot of staff movement next year. New principal, and some teachers are leaving also. Mr Wee is going to be the VP for Siling Primary.

Anyone knows whether the children should be in normal sch uniform or the PE T-shirt on the 1st day of Sch, which happened to be a Tue? It was mentioned during the orientation that the students would be having jump jam every Tue, so not too sure whether they should be wearing PE T-shirt on 4 Jan.

What is "jump jam"? I think I miss this part during orientation?
Thought children have to wear normal sch uniform everyday?
They will change to sch T-shirt when PE lesson.

Any parent can advise?
