I recommend Casio FX 95SG Plus if the school uses Casio models.

usually Casio gives them out free to the P6 kids

Free for Singapore Citizen. Was given out by the school with a training session.

        FREE?? How does it work?

        they distribute through the school

brand promotion by Casio lah, and building brand loyalty from young !![/quote]wow...got free one huh?? i only heard of it now.... πŸ˜‰

i also recommend the casio fx-95sg plus, the screen is bigger and the layout better
my gal's primary sch was using the sharp one, not as good as the casio.
accidently, came across the casio one, bought it for her only in sec 1.
she was complaining why don't her previous pri school recommended this instead of the sharp.

DS school oso recommended a model from SHARP.... is it ok if we buy/use different model (as long as it's in the MOE approved list)?

Would most likely buy the CASIO 95SG plus since it's highly recommended πŸ˜„

Then you'll need to teach your kid where the different functions are (square root, cube root, etc) as the teacher usually teach with their 'standard' calculator in the booklist.

I prefer Casio to Sharp too πŸ™‚

Tho' MOE has a list of approved calculator to be used in primary schools, not sure which is a good model to get for my son who's going P5 nxt year.

                        Any advise? :?

The school should had indicated in their booklist. There are casio, sharp etc. My nephew school used casio while dd school used sharp.

keep as my reference. but I don't think to calculate during Primary is a good thing.
