isabella.zola:If I remember correctly, $600 for a one year program, which includes 6 follow up checks n consultation + 12mths supply of eye drops. On top of the mentioned, child needs to wear glasses with progressive and transition lenses which is more costly. Personally think it is still worth it as my DS has not change his specs for the last one and half year. How much do you pay for this?beeb:My DS has been under atropine drop for the past 1 year and his myopia has been under good control. Before the program, his degree increased at a frightening 200-300 rate yearly!
Doc advised to keep him in program for another year till his early teen. Hope he can complete by next year.

RE: Seng Kang Primary
My 2 kids (P2 P5) are both in SKPS. Frankly, prefer the former principal Mrs Liew.... Well mayb I shd give the current principal Mrs shahul more time...
to be fair, she is not too bad too lah...
SKPS is selected for the PRIME program, an upgrading project for MOE schools. Work has started this year and expected completion is 2013. With it, facilities will greatly be improved, with an indoor sports hall, new admin block, playground, air-conditioned hall, etc.
Hope the above help answer some of your queries

RE: Club Breadmakers
25hourmaid:
Thanks for your suggestion. Shall try baking a loaf
Don't mean to be a wet blanket. I would suggest that you test out your machine to make sure that it is functioning perfectly before you sell it. By testing, I mean baking a loaf and not just turning it on to see.
My Bluesky is about the same age as yours and like you, I have not baked a loaf for a while, only used it to knead and to proof the dough for my buns and when I tried to bake a loaf recently, all thanks to this thread, the power tripped, so my conclusion is that the baking element is spoilt and therefore it can ony be used as a machine to knead and to proof, it cannot bake anymore.
Sorry, no offence intended, merely sharing my experience.

RE: Club Breadmakers
My DH and DS are bread lovers.
Bought this Blue Sky Bread maker from Carrefour about 3-4 years ago, enjoyed the freshly baked bread for sometime, but too lazy to make them after a while...
In good condition, Carrefour usual price S$89, offer price S$69.
Now letting go at $25 only :!: (Cash & Carry)
Anyone interested? PM me

RE: Skipping K2 for Enrichment courses???

Truly feel for your DS and u as a parent, having to see him go thro' the cruelty of the world at such a young age....Hi Tamarind,
My son was born with cleft lip and palate...resulting in him having 'ugly' teeth. Back in kindy then, I prepared him to handle 'name calling' incidents in case it happened. His classmates did give him strange looks but didn't ask him.
When he was in P1, his classmates were more vocal...laughted and called him 'Dracula' in class. It got to the point that he didn't want to go to school but I taught him to ignore the kids.
I had a talk with his FT and subsequently this stopped...but started again in P2 and P3. But I've taught him to ignore this and also took the opportunity to explain to him that 'name-calling' is not a nice thing to do and those who do that are not nice people/friends.
I totally agree with the response u teach ur DS to have, ie to ignore the scoffers. I've always taught my kids that tho we can't shut the others' mouth, we can choose to shut our ears
As abt cleft lip, isn't surgery able to correct it? It wd save the young and tender heart from lots of pain and struggle...
