Roundeyes:
I have drawn up a holiday time table for DD to follow, home tuitions have started too, so DD has to complete tuitors homework and some of mine too. Also asked her to watch Chinese news and read new paper to know what's happening around us. She supposes to report 2 news to us every day. Hopefully this helps to kill time in holidays, of course she has her computer time, reading time and going to neighbour house for playing. My son just hang around and play X box or his PSP all day.
I brought a few books but he doesn't like reading them now as he has stop reading almost a year since his P5/P6.
What are your kids doing? -

I do the same thing to my ds but after a short while he stop to \"obey\" the time table and instead of watching news he switch to others. appreciate any advice.[I have drawn up a holiday time table for DD to follow, ..

DD also never follow time table closely, asked her to study 5 Chinese idioms a day, she reduced to 3, understand there will be 250 idioms to learn in Sec 1. The only books she was happy to read were some literature books. The Geography guide she was like reading it in leisure. My aim was only trying to get her interested with the new subject. English theme vocabulary assessments books are the best to start our kids for English, I guess, DD was quite interested to do the book. I have included some rewards like outings to the zoo, explorerkids, movies of her choice, organizing some Christmas parties,

Hi Ongmum, have you tried this center, how do you feel about it? Hope to hear something from you about the public speaking programme...I did not call up to enquiry but I read from its website, the response was overwhelming that they have opened new class (fourth run).
Did you enroll your daughter elsewhere for public speaking programme?
Cheers!
Thanks a lot. -

I have not tried this training centre as I came to know it thru the seminar I attended with my family. The speaker is the one who runs the training centre. I am looking for other alternatives other than this one. You interested to send your child for this programme?
Cheers! -

Hi Ongmum, Thanks for your comments...how do you think about the speaker's english of academy Ig? Is he a local or oversea? As most of their lessons are full, it's difficult to enroll now.I have not tried this training centre as I came to know it thru the seminar I attended with my family. Jackeline Carter is the speaker and personally, I find she speaks very well. She is the founder of Academy IG and you can read more about her at http://www.academyig.com/about-us/ Jackeline is a Singapore native born to a British father and a Chinese mother, worked as a corporate trainer for many years. What I like about Academy IG is “it conducts Oral Communication classes to prepare students for the Trinity Guidhall Certificate in Oral Communication Grade 1-8. In addition, it is an internationally recognized certification from UK and the examiners flies in to Singapore twice a year to conduct exams.”
Thank you for sharing the information on Lorna Whiston. How old is your kid? Is the rates stated in there the same as what you have quoted over the phone? Thank you.
Cheers! -

My DD will be in P3 next year. I put her in Nafa bilingual class in past 1 year...I decide to pull her out from that class...I call Lorna Whiston to enquiry about their course, and teacher source...feel very good, they have Trinity Guidhall Certificate course as well, but only for kids from P4 onwards. 90% of their teachers are from UK...they have so many kinds of classes, can not decide which is the most suitable one. I did not ask them about course fee as I believe it should be the same as listed on website.
Pls share with me if you have more informations on this topic.
