What about the fate of those children who are from the non-affiliated schools if they join affiliated ones? The general opinion is that they would be ostracised & likely to be ragged, bullied etc? :?

P.s: pls bear with the concerns of an over-concerned parent ๐Ÿ˜‰

        Hi OngMum,

Since we have decided on CHIJ TP primary for daughter, we do hope she can stay there until she finishes her O levels...or else hope to transfer her to preferably SCGS or MGS which is nearer home.
Hi there again, I agree it is better to go to school nearer home to cut down the traveling time. No matter what, set her a good platform for learning to excel in her studies, and she will share her joy of fruitful harvest with you both at the end. ๐Ÿ˜„ All the best!

        Cheers!

Usually those who enter affiliated secondary schools have good results as the cut off points are higher...they won't be ostracised or bullied.

I've been rather active in the IJ TP primary thread since daughter is accepted...sinc leaving school so many moons ago, I need to find out more about the standard and expectations now. Education system & culture is very diff now than b4. My son will be in P5 next year...hopefully he will be more mature to follow the schedule I set for him and allow me to focus on daughter.

I share the same sentiments as janet_lee88. During my time at IJ (many years ago of course), we love all sisters in the school be it from affiliated or not. ๐Ÿ˜„ Hence, please do not worry.

                Cheers!

Yes, I canโ€™t disagree with you that education system and culture of the respective school are different as compared to our years. The former is getting more demanding and of course, stiff competition is present. As long as our children do their best at their own potential, we should be elated and feel blessed. ๐Ÿ˜„

                  Cheers!

Our time of education is H-I-S-T-O-R-Y. Now times have changed drastically. We as parents have to be more involved in childrenโ€™s education even if there are tutors.

Hi my daughter scored 223 in PSLE exam and would like to get to CHIJ Toa Payoh.

CHIJ Toa Payohโ€™s COP is around 238, i would like to seek advise if what are the chances for her getting into the school if i make an appeal.

My daughter is interested in the Arts Elective Programme.

I think that her chances of getting in are quite slim as she miss the COP by 15 marks which is a lot. But if she has something very good to offer to the school than you should try appealing, good luck! ^^
