[From P3 onwards, they rank the kids for that level. 1st in level will go Integrity, 2nd go Adventurous, 3rd go Integrity, 4th go Adventurous etc. till they finish with top 80. Then they place the next 80 in Meticulous and Respectful accordingly. It is not \"random\" allocation, but the top 2 classes are of equal standard in that sense.

Out of curiousity, does it mean that every year from P3, the children will be ranked yr on yr and re-shuffle based on that yr's result?

So far, it has been reshuffling every year, except for P5 - P6 whereby sometimes they decide not to reshuffle as there is minimal changes and no point causing disruption and adaptation again in final year of primary sch. However, most of those on top will remain / shuffle between I and A classes.

Random allocation was what the teacher said; probably just wanted to consol those who did not get into the class that they had hoped for.
Anyway, for my DS class, 4 got into I, min 3 got into A ... All the top 3 got into I, so it does not seem to be alternative between I and A .

Keekee, any one fr yr DD got into I ?

        [/quote]Just4Fun,

The alternating is based on positioning in standard (that level), not class. Your class 1st, 2nd, 3rd may hold different rankings in the standard (eg. class 1st may be ranked 3rd in standard, 2nd may be ranked 7th in standard, based on average marks). There is no way you will know as Rosyth never announced class position other than top 3, and standard ranking.

                In my boy's class, 3 to I and 5 to A.

The teacher said top 87 went to I and A.
Total students allocated to I is 43. So A must hv 44 . Wow, big classes.

Most likely there are several students with same score, so school has to squeeze them in else parents make noise. Actually 40 per class is already very big. So can i say tt there will be only 9 p3 classes, down fm 13 in p2?

Dd will be taking science fm next yr onwards. I have heard tt the science textbooks are inadequate for exams. Does rosyth require students to buy any particular sci guide books. I’m thinking of utilising the popular 20% discount voucher to get the books coz they are quite expensive. Thanks.
