My DS also can’t really recall exactly what happened…so blur still. He said there’s some reading and writing for English. For chinese, only reading. That’s all. Sigh…what really happened in there??

For the name tag to be ironed on the uniform/PE t-shirt, I noticed there shiny layer behind it. Do I need to remove it or anything before iron it, or just iron it as it is? Tks.

My girl is in class 1H. She said she was asked to do English, Chinese and Mathematics.
For English, she said it was a simple exercise, circling pictures that start with a particular alphabet like "A".
For Chinese, it was more a writing exercise.
For Mathematics, addition and subtraction. -
My girl shared the same thing about English. Something like the teacher make a sound like 'ber' (as in the sound of the letter B) and the children needed to circle the picture that starts with the same letter. She said it was easy peasy, too boring.
Maths, every student came out to answer a simple Maths problem and then pressed a number for the next student to answer :?
For Chinese, think they need to read a passage, then after which write their name in Chinese and paste the sticker on their clothes.
So they will re-shuffling of class again? So should i not label her school books yet until the letter comes along? -
My girl also in 1C. She cant really tell me what she was doing in the class room too but she enjoyed herself. Very blur girl.

Thanks all for sharing.
It’s great to share things among the parents thru the forum. Anyone send your child to the 10 days camp? I am still considering…
As for the weekend classes, I am impressed by the wu shu, english and chinese classes. English is important, however my son’s chinese is poor and wanted DS to do some exercise in wushu, but really do not wish to stress him up, confused and don’t know what to do ya… Any suggestion??
Me already stressful now, hahaha… -
I’ve signed up my girl for the 10-days lessons, thought its a start for her to get familiar with new school envoirnment.
Pity she miss the dancing, wushu, etc performances on orientation day, she would have enjoyed it and I would have a better idea which activity interests her (for the moment)… But I think this can wait till later.
Parents, what are your thoughts of the Principal’s speech on orientation day? Was he recently appointed or been with the school for a while? -
Any parents joined the parent support group?

My son is in 1D during orientation. He looked kinda dejected when he returned to the hall on orientation day and passed us a letter which advised us to sign him up for english camp. We did not probe what exactly happened during the assessment but reckoned that he may have realised he's weaker than his peers. Felt so bad for him, wonder if it's my fault for not sending him for all sorts of enrichment in his earlier years
I think I'm more stressed out than him.
Any parents out there are sending the kids to before sch care? -
Suaku_mum:
My son is in 1D during orientation.
Kekekeke my daughter in 1D too, when we asked her what was given, she simply replied \"Its secret! Teacher told us so.\"
When we try probing her further, she protests. We simply lolz and leave her alone...
