      tired mom:
      Hi

citibank dividend card does. there is a certain percentage of cash rebate (ranging from 0.5 to 5% depending on whether petrol/ groceries/ pharmacy or general merchandise). When the cash rebate hits $50, they will send you a cheque 😉

but only first year free subscription and subsequent year at $150 right?

hi tankee, no worries about subscription fees.

Just call up to cancel your card when they bill you. Based on past experience, they’ll waive the fees for ya. I recently applied for the citi clear/mastercard after reading here that it gives the best discount at esso mobil; the promoter even told me to call up to have the subscription fees waived the next year.

Only thing though, you must scrutinise your bill to remember to call them.

ya.. agreed. Nowadays for any of my credit cards, the moment they charge me subscription fees, i will call up and ask them at point blank to waive the charges. so far has been successful for the last five years 😉

I’ve also called to waive late payment charges. They would tell me ok then ask if I’ll sign up for giro. Of course, I say yes. Then promptly forgot about it.

With so many credit cards in the market, consumers win, every time. Just make sure you pay up your bills or you incur hefty interests!

There's another thread on preferred credit cards. Perhaps you can have a look http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3568?

My fave is Citibank coz they have the best customer service. They have waived off the fees every year without fail so I tend to prefer to put all my major purchases on Citibank to \"repay\" their kindness. HSBC's customer service is not so responsive and I vomited blood a few times speaking with them. DBS just let me cancel my card without offering to waive the fees. 😐

we have alot of diff ‘brands’ CC as diff banks give diff promotions / discounts…

dun really fancy SCB as seldom get to use so cancel it… UOB and SCB both quite ‘nghiao’ and only propose a 50% waiver so we cancelled both…

got a v unpleasant incident over UOB as well re their UOB ONE card so now this UOB ONE is only used for company purchases / petrol (minimum usage if possible)…

we normally use Citibank for dining / shopping / Singtel bills, OCBC NTUC for shopping in NTUC and POSB Everyday for our SP, Carrefour etc… Got a pleasant surprise when I realised the POSB Everyday card accumulates $$ from the rebatest gotten from SP & Carrefour bills which allows me to shop for free in Watson…

i have been diligently stapling all receipts signed on a A4 sheet of paper, categorised and filed against ‘banks’ in an arch file, every month when i receive the bill i will tally the bill against my file…

audit correct, the cc bill will be kept in a clear folder according to their due dates… few days before due i will go AXS and pay… yes, will always pay in full to avoid interest payable…
