I somehow don't like NYGS. I went there before, but didn't really liked it. I preferred DHS somehow.

livewith_vanilla
yes.....go for DHS 😄
like last year, my gal also chose DHS over NYGH and RGS
if u wanna to know anything abt DHS, just PM me
i will try to answer to u to my full capacity (but horr...not everything i know ,ok, especially the logistics, others here like 25hr maid can help better)

Haha, you make me sound as if I am an expert! I am just kaypo-ing around, as usual! 😛
what's the cut off point for dunman high?

Today is only the release of PSLE results. Nobody knows the Cut Off Point for Secondary Schools till 22 December. Hope that helps. But for your info, Dunman High's COP last year was 258.

Lol I'm from Dunman High and I think that if your score is 258 you should try other better schools like NYGH/HCI or RGS/RI. They can lead you to better JCs like RJC and HCJC. Dunman High isn't as good as you might think it is. Just my opinion.
lead to better JCs, doesn't mean u will do better in that school
and the word \"better JC\" is subjective to individual
due to very keen competition, one may not even get the subj combi which one desires

Hi,

May I know what is the COP for HCI and RI this year ?

Thanks a million!

You won't know for sure until all the posting is done. You can use last year's COP as a gauge. I expect the COP for HCI and RI to drop a couple of points.

Based on 2009 PSLE, the COP is as follows:

HCI\tLower\tUpper\tMean\tMedian
Express\t 257\t 281\t 262\t 261

RI\tLower\tUpper\tMean\tMedian
Express\t 259\t 283\t 266\t 265

Don't mean to be a wet blanket, but it is a bit difficult with 255 to get into DHS and NJC, but you can try though or even appeal after that, but that is another story altogether. So what I am trying to say is that you are taking a risk by putting DHS and NJC as your first and second choice and eventually, you may or may not get into Cedar, since you are likely to loose out to someone who put Cedar as her first choice.
she will not lose out to someone who puts Cedar as first choice as long as her t-score is higher than that person. Posting to secondary school is done based on the highest t-score to the lowest.

but if one intends to appeal to DHS or NJC, it makes sense to put them as the first few choices. At least it shows that the kid has tried. There is then some basis for appeal.

but cedar is a pretty nice sch. check out their open house this sat.

Most people typically get the subject combination they desire unless their grades do not make the cut. For instance, to get your desired subject combination in RJC, you need to have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in Year 4 in RGS/RI. If you're referring to subject combinations at Year 3, again, most people get the combination they desire - for my year, everyone got what they chose.
