what abt sci assessment bks? whc ones are gd?

i m new to it as my girl next year then p3.
      how to prepare her?

read guide bk first n do assessment huh?
I believe your daughter is using 'Perfect Match'. You can start her on 'Diversity' first...as for guide books, I would like to recommend 'P3/4 Science Partner' by SAP. It's rather comprehensive and acts as a backup for the textbook.
As for assessment books, you can check out 'P3/4 Science Teachers' Circle' and 'P3/4 Conquer Science'.

            mummies/daddies,

having flipped through these guide books, i noticed that some of them categorized Lower Block and Upper Block while some don't categorise. how do we know which is for P3, P4, P5 level??
            sorry for the noobiness.

Lower block is split into P3 and P4...usually Science assessment books by EPH are 'classified' Lower Block 1 and Lower Block 2 (P4).

noted...will go take a look this weekend. thanks. πŸ™‚

I saw this title at Popular...someone told me it's not bad and rather informative.

Yes, Plants move by themselves- towards light source or climbers curling towards a support. Whereas Animals move from place to place. So the key difference is \"from place to place\".

                Hi Jennifer.
For plants moving towards light source, isn't that equivalent to 'respond to surroundings?' If no, how do plants 'respond to surroundings'? Mimosa?
                Thanks.

                teh_oh

U r right in thinking it's a response to stimuli. BUT the sch teacher insisted \"plants move\" and quoted this example \"move towards light\".[/quote]I see. So it still depends on what the teachers teach in school.
2 more questions if you don't mind.
                1. In some of the books, snakes and lizards' outer coverings are 'scaly skin'. In one of the books, they are considered as having 'scales'. Are both correct?
                2. In one of the MCQ regarding concept map, X is said to 'have one pair of wings', 'lay eggs', 'has 6 legs' and 'spreads disease'. Why is the answer housefly instead of cockroach?

I do know that for guide books it is just
Lower Block (P3/P4), Upper Block (P5/P6).

My dd said i-science textbooks do not have these 'foreign language'.

So kids aren't expected to know all these BIG words ?

Popular staff told me if the Science assessment book, say Lower Block Science (eg this writer Helen Lee) has Book 1 and Book 2, Book 2 is for Primary 4.
