DS score 253, any suggest which school to go, my line up as follow
Thanks, u are really a great help. but having a score of 226 is really hard to choose a school. Can we appeal for sec school, if we are short of 2 to 4 marks?25hourmaid:
Wonder if this might help?

Guess the cop of RGS and NYGH:
2010 EESIS (for top 3%) is 260. total pupils are 45,049.
Top 3%: 45049 x 3%= 1352 pupils.
There are 10 girls in the top 17, 10/17= 58.82%, assume same ratio for all top 10% students.
Total girls in top 3%: 1352 x 58.82% =796 girls.
RGS + NYGH total have 1,000 places for girls, less those DSA and students from alliliate (NYPS),assume there would be less than 796 places left. therefore assume the cop of RGS/NYGH is around 260.
Of course there are some girls in top 3% won't go to RGS/NYGS, but NYGS has large students from affiliate NYPS (last year cop for affiliate was 250-276) which amounts would likely higher than those who won't apply NYGS in top 3%, this would cause NYGS cop higher than 260 again, say 261-262?
is this calculation make any sense?

Hi PGID,PGID:
no prob. is risky but wat do u think will be better ? We r thinking of Tampines Sec, East Spring, Damai Sec ?
I am not very familiar with the schools you mentioned, but based on last year's COP for the schools you mentioned, chances of getting into any of them is quite high since your child's T-score is higher than those schools.
Is Damai sec chinese name 德明中学?? if correct, should choose this... As my relatives stay Tampines and comments it not bad, or may b u can get more info from others.... -
corn jiagong:
I am not PGID, but Damai is not 德明中学. I believe it is Dunman SECONDARY that you are referring to. Dunman Sec is in Tampines.Hi PGID,

Interesting. I would say that RGS + NYGH total have about 900 places for girls. And yes, not all in the top 3% will choose either school.Guess the cop of RGS and NYGH:

My guess is 260 for RGS, possibly 259.
For NYGH, having an affliated school may drive COP higher than 260, as will having HCL bonus points. Despite that, my guess for NYGH is 260 (including HCL).
