ds got 209... we staying in woodlands area... is the following a wise choice.... really don't know and confused now.... :?: many many thks.

1. Christ Church Sec
2. Admiralty Sec
3. Woodgrove Sec
4. Woodlands Sec
5. Pierce Sec (considering distance wise)
6. ???

Anyone has any comments on Nan Chiau High? I noticed their GCE ‘O’ Level Band is Band 1 which is on par with most of the elite schools. NCH is at the top notch now and their COP is 231 and 232 based on 2010 and 2009 respectively.

Tell your wife that 235 is a good score. It is already above national average. Believe the national average hovers around 230 every year, plus and minus.


From your choices, I figured that you are somewhere in the East. How about Maris Stella and Nan Chiau? Both are within your score.

I would say 235 is a bit risky for SJI. Their COP was 241 last year, but yet I have heard of people appealing and entering with 231 a few years back.

Thanks. I am thinking of Maris Stella as well. Which one will be a better choice - Chung Cheng (Main) or Maris Stella? What's the opinion for Tanjong Katong Secondary?

If u like to try for SJI, suggest u put it as 1st choice, then appeal. Your chances will be good if you are catholic, or ur son has strong cca records. Is he fr sji affiliated schs? Cos they will usually entertain appeals only if u place it as 1st choice.

Otherwise st andrews should be quite safe for 235. It is affiliated to sajc too.

My son scored 186 for his PSLE with an A in English and C for all other subjects so normal acad it is!

I’m looking for a secondary school with a good reputation for their normal academic stream in Sengkang, Hougang or Punggol. Would appreciate it if anyone could let me know of any recommendations? I’m looking into Nan Chiau and Xinmin Sec but I’m afraid my son’s score would not be eligible for Xinmin’s normal academic.

If he has a good cca to support him, can try. Do u also consider Nan Hua, SAP school?
