I live in the west and I have gathered data from schools in this zone. Based on my data I can say that the number of students with t-score of more than 250 has dropped. That is why I am confident that the CoP is likely to be lower this year, although not very significantly, but by at least 1 or 2 marks.I think whether this year COP will drop is a hard question to answer because it depends on the number of students getting a certain range of scores.
For example, the top scores dropping this year does not mean that the number of students getting 260 and above will drop.
So, we have many KSP parents detectives all over the island, what is the general feeling, whether there is an increase number of students with 250 tscore than last year? From the Nanyang Primary school statistics, I see that the number of students with t-score more than 250 has increased, even though the score of the top students have dropped. If this is true generally across all primary schools, it means that schools with COP of around 250 last year may increase in COP this year.
Kiasu Parents from other zones, please comment. Thanks to all. -

Your first three choices seems to be far off from last year COP, you should not waste your choice. put school that are 1 to 2 pts close to your T-scoreI'm very disappointed with my results.
I got 230 + 2 (HCL)...can I put the choices as below:
1. Nan Hua (COP 09:242)
2. Commonwealth (COP 09: 236)
3. Swiss Cottage (COP 09: 234)
4. Clementi Town (COP 09: 230)
5. Fuhua (COP 09: 229)
6. Kranji (COP 09: 229)
or should i give up Nan Hua and put COmmonwealth as my first choice and my last choice be Jurong (COP 226)
thanks in advance. -

My advice is to give up Nan Hua. The COP is too far and beyond reach. And your current last two choices do not give you enough safety net. So it will be good to put Jurong as your last choice. -

HCI has 4 mini schools or consortiumWith 255+2, I am seriously not sure if my son will \"shine\" in hci if he manages to get in since he will be the bottom of the cohort but if I don't seize this chance of letting him try out in an ip school, will we regret it in future?
In hci, is the allocation of classes bases on t score so all those who juz made it will go to the bottom classes or each class has a mix of students?
iSpark is for GEPpers, the other 3 are for the rest
the school says consortium / class allocation is \"random\" -

Yes, Chu Cheng Main (236-263), typo. Sorry, kind of stressed out now.Proudparentof2:

1. Chu Cheng Main (cop 208-231)
Do you mean Chung Cheng (Main)? If so, the COP is 236 (236-263).
Should we just drop it since it is too high?
Most likely you have to drop that option as it is too far fetch for your son score.[/quote]Yes, I kind of thinking the same way. That leaves us with 2 choices only.
1. Gan Eng Seng
2. Bowen
Dear all, any school suggestion for my daughter please. I am so lost. :?: -

This is exactly what I think. My DS' school's top PSLE score is much lower than last year, but number of pupils above 265 is higher. The T-score distribution curve is obviously very different from past years'. We can't simply extrapolate that everyone's T-score is lower since the highest T-score is lower. The effect on COP depends on where the school concerned sits on the distribution curve. On the other hand, the fact that there are only 45K plus pupils this year (much lower than last few years) will definitely help to drive COP lower (not sure by how much). All the best to all who are going through the S1 posting.I think whether this year COP will drop is a hard question to answer because it depends on the number of students getting a certain range of scores.

Can someone tell me what is the COP for 3rd Lang (top 10%). This COP is usually around 250. Last year was 248. With this info, we can estimate whther there is an increase/ decrease of the numbers of student scored between 250 and 259.

We already knew 260 is the top 3% (EESIS awards). Therefore the nos. of ppl scored 260 and above is 45000 x 3% = 1350
