My apologies for that earlier statement.
TBH, I was taken aback by your outburst; but, hey, no worries. I realised that you read my post incorrectly.

I think whether this year COP will drop is a hard question to answer because it depends on the number of students getting a certain range of scores.

For example, the top scores dropping this year does not mean that the number of students getting 260 and above will drop.

So, we have many KSP parents detectives all over the island, what is the general feeling, whether there is an increase number of students with 250 tscore than last year? From the Nanyang Primary school statistics, I see that the number of students with t-score more than 250 has increased, even though the score of the top students have dropped. If this is true generally across all primary schools, it means that schools with COP of around 250 last year may increase in COP this year.

I live in the west and I have gathered data from schools in this zone. Based on my data I can say that the number of students with t-score of more than 250 has dropped. That is why I am confident that the CoP is likely to be lower this year, although not very significantly, but by at least 1 or 2 marks.

Kiasu Parents from other zones, please comment. Thanks to all.

Can someone tell me what is the COP for 3rd Lang (top 10%). This COP is usually around 250. Last year was 248. With this info, we can estimate whther there is an increase/ decrease of the numbers of student scored between 250 and 259.

We already knew 260 is the top 3% (EESIS awards). Therefore the nos. of ppl scored 260 and above is 45000 x 3% = 1350

S1 posting is based on merit

enough said. need no further elaboration

my strategy would be this :

1st choice : dream school, despite the points shortage

2nd choice : must be sure to get in.

in case die die cannot get into dream school, will have no regrets living with second choice

while in second choice, work hard (academically & connection-wise) for a transfer to dream school, through various appeals channel
hi very happy to see this post of urs.

1st choice : dream school, despite the points shortage

till now me and dd cant decide on the 1st choice st nic.
            her score is 237+2.
2nd choice is chung cheng main

With 255+2, I am seriously not sure if my son will \"shine\" in hci if he manages to get in since he will be the bottom of the cohort but if I don't seize this chance of letting him try out in an ip school, will we regret it in future?

In hci, is the allocation of classes bases on t score so all those who juz made it will go to the bottom classes or each class has a mix of students?

HCI has 4 mini schools or consortium

iSpark is for GEPpers, the other 3 are for the rest

the school says consortium / class allocation is \"random\"

and again when they enter JC1, each class will be allocated to one of four \"consortiums\", Apollo, Ares, Artemis and Athena if I recalled correctly. maybe i am moving too far ahead

I would suggest that you and your son visit HCI tomorrow; see the program below:

Parents can see whether my reasonings are fundamentally sound or not. If unwise, they can chose to ignore. No need for me to debate further with your childish statement.
I don't he/she was targetting you. Your advice has been useful to many people. I think he/she was continuing your warning to inexperienced parents. :celebrate:
