My score was 249, do you think I can get into cedar? I put my second choice as St Margaret's (which I definately regret! :() So if I don't get into cedar, is there a way to amend my choices?
Hi fellow potential schoolmate ! Your chances are good I suppose, based on the COP for last year. Nope, no way to amend your choices. I think you should be able to get into Cedar. Some say COP may rise due to going-to-be IP status while others say will drop due to overall lower national average(if I ain't wrong). Goodluck anyways ! Hope to see you in Cedar ! I hope to get in too.

yup, for your year, if you do well in sec 1 and sec 2 and make it to top 50, you can still go the IP route to VJ fr Sec 3 onwards. There is no loss for you to come to Cedar.
yeah follow yr heart then . whichever school there's always pros and cons, make yr choice wisely and enjoy your years there
Thank you for yours and ssll's advice. I am taking up HMT in Cedar if I can.livewith_vanilla:

that is good thinking on your part. With your score, plus diligence and hard work, you will surely ace in cedar. you can also take HMT in cedar. cedar is not so angmo.
What I meant by not being able to cope in DHS,especially the chinese, is that if I get into DHS, I'm afraid that the chinese will be really hard. Cedar girls chinese standard isn't as high.
How bad my chinese can go? Well perhaps my writing and answering isn't bad. But when it comes to history of china and chinese literature, i'm an absolute idiot. I didn't know who was kongzi until my friend kindly informed me at DHS open house. :x So i think i will do well in Cedar if i didn't have to spend alot of my time on my chinese and working hard on my other subjects. ^^ -

I'm thinking of that school but because I would be borderline case plus my chinese is weak, I'm afraid I would not be able to cope in DHS. I selected Cedar Girls because I would be able to secure an O Level certificate and go on to JC if I want to if I can't get into IP Programme at sec 2.

u sure u wanna to give up DHS with yr score?
nevermind abt kongzi, u'll \"see kongzi\" everyday when u go to DHS
fyi, there are some minority of my gal's classmates who had gotten only a PASS in HCL (though majority of them are mainly merit).
when u 're in that environment, you'll def thrive yr best and improve on HCL.
so long u are willing to put in more effort, and more time
i believe u def can do well based on yr intelligence and diligence as read from yr past postings here.
moreover, u have yr parents to help u along as u mentioned in yr PM.
btw, for sec1, chinese literature is not a real concern in DHS as only 1 or (maybe 2) graded assignment during the school holidays.
fyi, my gal also dislikes chinese history and literature......
I don't know lehh. My chinese seriously bad de. Don't wanna take the risk. Later A level not good, only got PSLE cert. ><
Parents supportive of my decision, but ultimately im the one putting in the effort. I know that i won't be able to have discipline to read chinese papers or books.
Plus, I don't think I wanna be stuck with my classmate(going to DHS) for another 6 years. It will really kill me, i know her for one year, she drove me crazy already. She's really b****. No offence. ><
I'm gonna check cedar out tomorrow.
Sorry lahh Augmum.
I scared I can't cope. Cedar is the school for me I guess. Plus it excels in sports. i'm sporty kind also.
Even my senior in DHS encourages me to go Cedar Girls. She in sec 2 this year. Me and her very close. -

First of all, I think with your score of 249, you should have no problem getting into Cedar.
Why cannot edit your choices? :? Login again with your PIN and there should be an \"AMEND\" button somewhere. I found this info on MOE's website.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/secondary-one-posting/files/s1-internet-system-guide.pdf
But bear in mind that you can only make one amendment on your own. If there are subsequent amendments, you would have to approach the General Office of your Primary School to help you make the subsequent amendments, so do consider very carefully before you click the AMEND button.
Hope that helps. -

Hi livewith_vanilla, you are most welcome.
A bit sad to read that you are giving up Dunman with your good scores, but whatever it is, I know that you have thought this over very carefully and once again, you have my support! :celebrate:
You will do well wherever you go. :ugogirl: You have the right attitude, and that's very important. All the best in your new Secondary School next year, which I am sure will be Cedar! :celebrate:
