Yes; It's a personal choice really. I suggest you go down to the schools if possible and speak to students, your daughter should like the school. Both are good schools. They do have very different cultures; in my case, I think NYGH suited me better. Not so cut-throat.
Which one does your daughter prefer (since both are good schools)?fmer1317:
RGS or NYGH?
My daughter scored 262 + 3 and I am wondering does she stand a good chance to enter RGS or NYGH? If she does, should her 1st choice be RGS or NYGH? Please advise. Tks:D
Best to choose what she likes since she will be there for a few years.
If its me, I'll go for RGS (no offence to NYGH. just a personal preference i guess)
But of course I stand by my Alma mater. I had an absolutely wonderful 4 years in NYGH; loved it! The people were great, the environment good (The campus has a really warm and cozy feel) and I liked the school culture.
If anyone has questions pertaining to NYGH, feel free to PM me!
I don't think evaluating how good a school is based on the number of PSC scholars or President Scholars is an accurate indicator. Scholarships are NOT the be-all-end-all; people opt not to take up scholarships for many reasons. As long as a school has a sound academic record (ie A levels) and a succesful alumni, I should think it's fine. There's no need to split hairs over who's better! -

Sorry for not being clear. It is actually quite easy to get into the IP programme. Usually those students who did not get into IP are because:Mad-Eye Moody:
What do you mean by most? If my DS scored 254+2, is he absolutely [/b]confirmed an IP programme. It's really far from where I live, but I want an IP prog. for my son. If it is an O'level school. VS is nearer and cheaper.
1. Not consistent in their study. They usually dun do well in test and exam because they are lazy to study.
2. They are lazy to prepare a proper portfolio.
Hi this sounds like my DS... 255+2 (2A* English and Maths and rest 2As) anyway can you share your views for IP - A levels cos I not sure if IB suits him. Between NJC & RiverValley which would you suggest as 2nd choices? Please advise :?: :?: Thank you very muchie ! -

Hi, Finally someone mention RV ... can you give me your views abt the school my boy scored 255+2 strong in English A* , Maths A* , science A, Chinese A. which IP school do you think we can put as 1 st to 3rd choice?
Why don't you consider RV is distance is not an issue? The score will be safe with RV but borderline for HCI, DHS and NJC.Mad-Eye Moody:
