Hi, juz went to look at the forum on TKSS & feel so relief! OK, set for TKSS & hope their COP do not go up too many points. 🙏

That's the beauty about this Forum. Useful info and advice at every corner! Someone calls it a BIG FOREST, just have to know which TREE to climb for the right info! :celebrate: :lovesite:

25hourmaid, oh dear, DS is so flicker minded! One moment said wanted to try for CCHM but gave up after realized is a SAP as he's pretty weak in Chinese. Then after lunch, said afraid it may be too competitive in TKSS and is now thinking of Temasek as 1st choice! :stupid:
Need another piece of advice from you again, can i agree with him? :?:

Hi .... my girl exactly same score as yours ... stay in east also ...
likely SCGS, CGS, St Nich ....

my dd also 253 +2. Also stay in East. also deciding between SCGS and Cedar. DD afraid can not find friends in SCGS since classmates will mostly go to east side schools...any suggestions?

so we can make them friends ok ?? haha .. Actually still thinking over between SCGS and Cedar, think more of SCGS now ...[/quote]went to open house today at cedar and also SCGS. Surprise that SCGS though an independent school in which the girls have to pay a hefty fees of close to $300 per month is so run down. The classrooms' chairs and tables are all in a very sorry state. The parade square tiles are blackish and greenish in which the girls are expected to sit every morning for assembly. No offence to any SCGS current and old girls. That's just what I honestly feel as 1st impressions.

          Help !

I am lost ! indeed need some help from you.
My girl scored 204 in her PSLE and somehow eligable to enroll into Express steam. As you know, this range of scoring is the \"sandwich\" type which not many good school for selection.
Can I enroll her into NA stream instead ?
I am staying at Seng Kang, which school should I pick if I have to enroll her into express stream ?
          please advice... appreciate it. :?
She did well to go to Expres, hence you cannot \"downgrade\" her to NA. You can consider Greendale or Punggol at Punggol if she don't mind the travelling time. Persoanlly I prefer Greendale as I have 2 nephews studying there and I think they are doing well.

Try to choose those schools with Mean Score and Median scores around 203-206. You can foolw the steps below to check the scores for the school
          .

          1) Goto http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/index.asp
          2) Choose \"Basic Search for schools\"
          3) Under Secondary Schools, choose the school you want to check. You will get a pop-up window
          4) Scroll down and look under \"Aggregate range of 2009 Primary 6 pupils posted to 2010 Secondary 1\"

Many don't realise. It is the culture of the school. Somehow, RJ students can peak when the time comes. Many of them fooled around throughout JC but will still get straight As in A level.
It's the Rafflesian spirit. They work hard and play hard. CCA is just as important to them as academics. And that is very important for overall development. I can't imagine children studying round the clock.

Dear all, advise please. My child psle result is 223. So far this is what we have on the list:

Chung Cheng (Yishun) cop: 230, mean: 235, median: 233
Gan Eng Seng, cop: 222, mean: 228, median: 227
              Mayflower, cop: 222, mean: 225, median: 225
Hua Yi, cop: 221, mean: 225, median: 225
              Bowen, cop: 221, mean: 226, median: 225
              Peirce, cop: 208, mean: 213, median: 212

Her cca is international dance and she is from River Valley Primary. Is the list too aggressive or good strategy. Worst outcome we are hoping she is going to Gan Eng Seng.

Advise please, pretty please to this confused mother-daughter.

You can consider Beatty sec sch, walking distance from Braddell Stn.
They have been very consistent in getting the value-add awards and the banding for 2010 'O' level is 6, one of the best schools to consider for good academic performance.
              Good luck in your choices!

Sorry, not familiar with these schools. However, I know someone with 2 daughters in North Vista. Her elder daughter (Sec 2 this year) don’t really like the school, but her younger sister (sec 1 this year) find the school alright. My friend believe is due to the classmates that the children have.

I understand that there is a new school in Punggol (cannot recall the name). Usually a new school is good as the principal and teachers will work hard to ensure that their pioneer batch of students will do well in "O" or "N" exam, so as to set a good reputation for the school. You may want to consider the new school.

Would like to add something I wrote on Cedar Girls topic.

My friend who scored 242 is appealing to Cedar Girls. The office staff told her parents and her (I was there but was sitting on the couch) that my friend’s chances were slim and that the COP is likely to go up due to going-to-be-IP status.

For those on borderline case, perhaps call up the school to check so that you will not waste your precious 6 choices ?
