      LE ANN:
      hi all KS parents

I was in the hall during yesterday PSLE result announcement. PH principal was very happy with 2 top students listed in MOE top PSLE students list. Yes, both with 276, 4A* and distinction in Hi chinese. PHPPS was 1 of the non GEP schools with awards. They announced 39 students (hope figure is correct) attained 260 and above. 18 with 4A* with distinc in Hi Chinese and 23 with 4A*. Ch6 teachers mentioned this claz has full class with A* in maths, full class except 2 with A* in English! 3/4 class with A* in science! Well done!
      Well done! PHPPS :congrats:

Believed efforts come more Fr students n their parents.

What PHPPS do to help them to get their PSLE high scores ?

I think we have to give credit when credit is due. If PH's results dropped, imho it is fair game to criticize the sch's effort. Likewise, the opposite is true too.

Just my thoughts, no offence intended pls  .

I agree. Credit where credit is due. Because I am sure that in other schools, parents put in just as much effort. So that evens things (the parents' side) out and we cannot say that all the good schools in Singapore get their good results because of the parents?

          LE ANN:
I think there isn't such details even in PH web-site. Only percentage. Only this year annual book, details are published. But in MOE website, every year there is at least 1 student with marks 275 and above for PHPPS.

Pei Hwa has been grooming students since P1...I'm sure there will be a top student one day. The school which ALMIGHTY came from has produced a top PSLE student who has record high PSLE points of 297 (correct me if wrong). Nanyang Primary also produced a top student before the principal moved on to Nanyang Girls.
In any case, I'm sure parents, teachers and the students work very hard together.

I think it is extremely challenging for any non-GEP sch to produce the top PSLE scholar. To have remote chance of producing one, PH has to be re-granted her GEP status (St Hilda's where P came from is) so as so retain her best students as well as absorb the best from the rest.

But imho that's not the most impt measurement of a sch's performance. I feel that the average T-score of the cohort is the fairest criterion to grade schs. Many schs (maybe including PH) focus a lot on the top & bottom 2 classes. But what about the 'middle class' squeezed in between? Not complaining here, just accepting the reality of sch life.

Anyone has bou the sch files for next year? Is it different from the present ones?

I noticed the stationery item no. is not the same as the ones in the old booklist. So would like to confirm whether I can re-use the old files.

              Many thanks in advance.

I have not bought the files yet...but my son's files cannot be recycled bcos they are in pathetic conditions at the end of the school year. Have bought most of the textbooks & workbooks from Popular...now left with some of the titles not avail and school files.
