My advice is to put KCPHS as first choice if she's really keen on the school, nothing to loose as she's only 3 marks off, yes, risk is there, but no harm trying. My DD 's score is 224. Choices are :
1) Geylang Methodist
2) Kuo Chuan (he likes the school though their cop is 227)
3) Bowen
4) Holy Innocent
5) Beatty
6) Bendemeer
We take into account the travelling time and also his liking of the school. Anyone care to share his advice/comments. Thanks
By putting GMSS as your first choice, the chances of getting in is pretty high considering that your girl's score is above that of GMSS, so she would stand no chance at all for KCPHS which is the school that she's very keen about.
Hope that helps. -

THanks, for your advise. but appeal must base on something right? my son nothing to offer to them leh? hee
I would say worth a try. Not sure what is your son's HMT score, but even if it's just one mark, I would still advise that you go for it, but of course, he stands a very good chance is the HMT is 3 points.ksfaith:
Hihi
25hours, thanks so much for answering all our questions. i am choosing RVH as my 1st choice, 248 with Hmt. what do you think of my son chances?
That said, suggest that you put a very safe school as second choice. Given the cirucumstances, I would appeal to RV if I do not get in after the posting, if my son's score is just one or two points off from their COP. Quite a high chance for appeal.
Hope that helps. -
btw his base point is 247 and 1 pt hmt.

Haha, that is very practical of you. If your son has nothing to offer to them for appeal, then make sure you are happy with second choice, that's what I would advise. Good luck. :celebrate: -
As per the handbook, the posting is base on the merit.
If child A agg is 219 and child B is 215
Child A
East Spring as 3rd choice
Child B
East Spring as 1st choice
Q : Will Child A get to go in 1st rather than Child B ? -

Alamak, sorry, thought his base is 248 before the HMT and if this is the case, I would say very risky, not worth the risk. I think you would sleep better by putting NH as your first choice. Higher chance of getting the school you want and not so stressful worrying about appeal and such. -

moe arrange the student to their match sec school base on their score from high to low, that means they arrange 219 first, then 218 ,217,216,aft that turn to 215. so the student who is score 219 will be arrange first. -

Hi
Your first three choices are risky and wasted because your child score is below their COP, your fourth is borderline. Are you sure of your choices, seems wasted to put up such choices. You should be more practical. -
I will put NH as 2nd, RV still 1st choice lor.if cant get in to RV i will not appeal just leave it. As what u suggested victoria is a good school but too far for me.
