The COP is 257. Meaning if you didn't take HCL, you would have to score at least 257 to get into HCI last year. If you did take HCL, then your score would have had to be at least 256+1, 255+2 or 254+3.
Last year COP of Hwa Chong=257, does it includes the merit point from Higher Chinese? What is the COP for those without HMT ?
You are wasting Choice no 2. Firstly he should get in to HCI - no problem. Secondly if he doesn't get in to HCI coz it's full, RI would also be full. So you are actually wasting Choice 2. You have to decide as Choice No 1 either HCI or RI.semaj:
My son got 261 but he did not take Higher Chinese though he got A* in Chinese. What is his chances to get to Hwa Chong?

Hi
I was looking thru PLMGSS's website and their dance team has clinched a Gold with Honours award in 2009. So your dd's ballet achievements can be an added advantage.
As for TKGS, it's a risk to put it as a choice as last yr COP was 233.
Anyhow, I think the best is to call up these 2 schools to enquire more.
Do you think its safe to put PLMGSS as first choice , second choice Pasir ris crest. Followed by others. http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7052
Check out this forum above. We havent apply for the school yet but do you think we should try this option out? Also, since this school PLMGSS is a goverment aided school. How much would the school fees be? -
Am I right to say that if one gets 259+3, he would get in to Hwa Chong first as compared to my son (261 without HMT)?
For RI, they don't consider the merit points for HMT, right?jtoh:

No, they will never list that as their official COP. The official COP is the score of the last child accepted into that school for that year. -

What do you think of following choice for 260 +2
1) RGS
2) NJC
3) St Nicholas
4) Cedar
5) Crescent
6) CHIJ TP
do u think the chances of RGS is very slim? Definitely prefer my Dd to go to a girls school but she wants to try the IP. -
25hourmaid:
Thanks 25hrmaid for your advice
My advice is to put KCPHS as first choice if she's really keen on the school, nothing to loose as she's only 3 marks off, yes, risk is there, but no harm trying.leesf:
My DD 's score is 224. Choices are :
1) Geylang Methodist
2) Kuo Chuan (he likes the school though their cop is 227)
3) Bowen
4) Holy Innocent
5) Beatty
6) Bendemeer
We take into account the travelling time and also his liking of the school. Anyone care to share his advice/comments. Thanks
By putting GMSS as your first choice, the chances of getting in is pretty high considering that your girl's score is above that of GMSS, so she would stand no chance at all for KCPHS which is the school that she's very keen about.
Hope that helps.
