      Hello

I just came across this forum today. Thank you for keeping this forum and provide valuable inputs.

My daughter who scored 257 and she is from non affiliated school from Jurong)

I would like to enroll in Secondary school. I live in the West (Jurong west extension).

I am totally confused on selecting secondary school. I was thinking Methodist Girls secondary school. Some suggested Crescent Girls school. One of my relatives suggested Raffles Girls school. I am bit confused.

Please provide your inputs I appreciate.

      Thanks

if u do not mind the high fees at MGS is good, if not Crescent is a good choice

257 going to cresent is a bit waste. maybe dunman high??? :?

Thank you very much - I truly appreciate your input and will check out the mentioned schools. dont know much abt med, mean and banding and dont really know what it means. i think it would be tough to appeal for a place in cat high, even with religion, but i must add that CHS principal Mr Lee and my boy's teachers have been really very supportive and nurturing the past 6 years.....
hi, you're welcome. For banding, let's say if bartley is band 9 for express, it means that the avg kid in the sch will get approx 18 pts for 6 subjects for o level. May apply for jc.

My ds also from chs. So now also applying for schs. In fact submitted already. It's true that the teachers are very supportive. My ds is lucky to have 4 nice teachers this year.

Crescent Girls is a very good sch. Definitely not a waste.

              Hi all,

I am new to this forum but found it stunningly informative, especially with so many awesome contributors.

For a boy living in west with PSLE aggregate of 258, what school choices would you suggest? He is non-chinese. So no SAP schools please.

              Thank you very much.

RI (duh) NUSH NJC ACSI CHS VS SJI
RI still deserves a try la because this year's score is worse than that of last year's and last year ri is like 259

                  For aggregate of 203:

Any comments on Serangoon Garden Sec?? in terms of discipline, whether it has conducive environment(Students, Teachers etc)?? it’s the nearest so very tempting, but need to know whether the school is at least ok??
What about Pierce & Guang Yang, Yio Chu Kang & Chong Boon??
                  Thanks in advance!!

HI! wow, small world! which class was he in? i am still thinkin hard....we went to scout a few schools today, to see the location and the accessibility. went to see chong boon, montfort, bartley and bendemeer. of the 4, bartley is most convenient by mrt access but the walking distance from the station to the school is really too long a distance... if only ds had gotten slightly better score, then pierce would be so good for us

Total: 335/400. Estimate that he'll get about 250 - 260. :xedfingers: :xedfingers: :xedfingers:

                      around 252

He got 251 for 2009 PSLE and going on to sec 2 next year in VS :celebrate: 😉
