hi i m new…
can i join in?
just returned from my trip from BKK… n encounter sth from this trip
was sleeping and was woken up by the sound of a new rattle which we bought for my #1. However, i had packed the rattle in the luggage which was not closed as i wanna pack our night clothes the next morning b4 we checked out… as i was tired, i thought DH was playing with my ger so i just close my eyes and dozed off…
5min later, i thought i heard the rattle again. this time i got irritated so i turned and saw that my hb n ger were soundly sleeping beside me… but the sound of the rattle was off by this time… needed to pee, so i got up n went toilet, evthing seemed normal…
when i woke up in the morning, i found my hb specs at the foot of the bed on the floor. Found it strange as my hb is usually very particular abt where he placed his stuff. Scolded my hb abt it anyhow throwing his specs, but he mentioned he left his specs on the bedside table. my ger is only 8mths old, unable to crawl over her papa to reach for the specs… both of us were stumped.
funny thing was, the place wehre i found hb’s spec was directly in front of his 4 faced buddha pendant… so he joked that the "spirit" was destroyed by it… while i told him that it was prolly my #2 who wanted to play with his jie jie toys (currently i m 27wks preggy) -
Story to share. I grew up in an army quarters back in the 70s / 80s. The day we move into the flat, my elder sister was screaming & crying, saying that she saw a very ugly monkey look alike face. As I grow up, I was often left alone in the flat. I usually spent most of my time in my own room shared wit my sister. Our room was bright with plenty of sunlight flowing in. I usually will avoid my parents room which in the eyes of a child, looks dark, menacing & creepy. There’s only one mirror which was located in my parents bedroom. Besides the mirror was an indention in the wall which was covered by curtains. Everytime, I combed my hair & stood in front of the mirror, I will feel a soft breeze blowing. The curtain seems to be moving ever so gently. Totally totally hated that room. Occassionally, the lights will flicker or on or off by itself (both in living & master bedroom). Apart from that nothing really scary happened & we lived there for 10 years.
After my father retired, he met up with some retired officers & they chatted happily about old times. He happened to meet with the family who used to stay in the same units that we occupied for 10 years. The family stayed in that flat for only 2 weeks. There were so much disturbances. Things placed behind the curtains (it’s like a store room) vibrated or flung out. The man who stayed before him has hang himself in the master bedroom using the pole behind the curtains.
So at least I know when I was young, it’s not my over imaginative thoughts that spooke me out for 10 years. -
wa, very scary leh…

smurf:
er, I dun understand the zapping Buddha's energy par. I thought Buddha is more powerful??
same here lor... last time, i thot house got buddha sure protected liao.
here's a very logical explanation:
- a Buddha is just a statue made by men
- a Buddha's powers is actually determined by the chant 'pressed' into the statue
- when the Buddha is at home protecting a house, it depends on the level of 'yin' in the house
- the Buddha will exude its powers to protect the house
- once its powers (given by the shifu) is used up, it's just a statue
deductions:
- so the shifu got to be very skilful and is able to 'press' a powerful chant into the statue
- a Buddha with the same level of chant (chants come in many levels) protecting 2 diff households will have very different 'used-up rates' depending on how yin the house is
- the Buddha (just like those buddha pendant) needs to restore its energy level (depending on its used-up rate) -
wa, very complicated leh. got such theory one.didn't know that.haha.
for Catholics, we normally ask priest to bless the ornament, statue, pendant, etc. but never heard of power being used up.

same here. thought got statue everything all fixed liao. no need to worry.wa, very complicated leh. got such theory one.didn't know that.haha.

but with this new knowledge, it explained why my previous buddha was possessed and how my home can house 3 'residents'. -
smurf:
IL sides also Catholics. Every year MIL will give us a leaf/fern(?) to put in the house. Suppose to protect the house and us? Dun know why need to change every year though.wa, very complicated leh. got such theory one.didn't know that.haha.

oh, Palm leaves are given out during the church mass on Palm Sunday, a week before Easter Sunday.
Palm Sunday is marked by the distribution of palm leaves (often tied into crosses) to the assembled worshipers. -
oh, thanks for the info, smurf. Do the palm leaves offer protection? We did not get any one to bless our house b4 or have any ornaments…getting abit wary with all the ghost talk.

hmm, it's hard to tell you whether it's offer protection against supernature stuff. it's all boils down to whether you believe anot. it's kinda hard to explain. if you dun believe, nothing works, even if the priest bless the palm leaves.
I remember this story (can't remember the details though). a lady/gal (A catholic i tink) was walking late at night alone, but she has very strong faith that God will protect her. and somehow, another day later, someone told her that she was about to get rape that day, but the rapist didn't rape her, cos the rapist saw 2 very BIG men/being standing/walking beside her.
the story is about like tat lah, pardon me, cos I dun remember the details.hee.
I didn't ask priest to bless my current place either, but we have a crucifix in front ot the door, blessed by priest.
but whether you bless or not, I think the main issue is whether you have faith.
