Can try, but bear in mind that the HMT is no use for entry to SJI.

        Thanks for the quick reply.

i have a dsa offer from mgs and it is the SBC, sophia blackmore class. i am also appealing for nygh and rgs. i like ny as many of my classmates are there and the facilities are excellent. and the whole sch is better. but i will be in SBC in mgs and it's a special programme. i will be given a lot of attention, and i will be better than most people... i dont really care abt rgs, but i thought i should just try. so nygh or mgs SBC? my score is 261+3. :?:

to clear some misconception posted by some people here.

cut of point for SAP school as published by MOE does not include HCL bonus points. it is the lowest t-score for anyone without HCL to get into that SAP school

if a student has HCL passes, she / he enjoys the benefit of the bonus point, does not imply that the cut-off point of the school is thus lowered by 3 points. it is a reward for doing the extra paper of higher difficulty.

Can someone advise if it is better to select Raffles Girls or Nanyang Girls? My daughter has score of 272 + 3 for Higher Chinese. We have an English speaking environment at home so not sure if she can adapt to the culture and environment in Nanyang Girls. On the other hand, Raffles Girls seems to be a very competitive environment so not sure if teachers are caring.

                    noob:
I have been seeing alot of people who have gotten 247 to 249, added with +2 or + 3 HCL to get a score around 248 ~ 252

Last year, my boy score 247 + 2, and tried to appeal to RV, however failed.
if im not wrong for that year ( 2009 ) , the COP was 251. so despite a mere 2 marks below the COP, he was still rejected.

My dd classmate had 248 +2 got in after appeal last year.

I am shocked to hear that. Oh well, that's too bad. I have another friend of mine who's daughter score 248 + 2 and tried appealing into RV, but got rejected too. I wonder why ?
DD in RVH. Heard some of her friends got in with 250 after appeal. Some with 251 were rejected. I guess the school doesn't just look at T-score alone.

                      3. What are admission criteria for Secondary 1 pupils (via annual posting exercise)?

The cut-off for PSLE T-score, inclusive of bonus points for Higher Mother Tongue, ranged from
262 to 265, in the last 3 years. For AY2010, the cut-off is 263 inclusive of HMT.

so you are saying the actual cut off point for NYGH last year was 260 ?

so tell me, is it inclusive of 1 or 2 or 3 points ? The 263 is inclusive of 1 or 2 or 3 points ?

in the briefing for parents last Thursday, it is stated very clearing that if the cut off point is 263, what it means is that anyone without HCL needs 263 to enter, and anyone with 262 plus HCL pass can enter, or anyone with 261 plus HCL merit pass can enter, or 260 with HCL distinction can enter.

so, if you don't have HCL, you need 263 to enter. THAT IS the cut off point. I got my facts right. It is NOT misleading. You get a discount if you have HCL. Read my post carefully first
