Foreverfriends:
Hi yes the school allows. Do u know the reason why some schools disallow?Jade:
Hi, my DD going P3 next year has been asking for a trolley bag. She used the impact bag currently n complained that the bag was v heavy after adding in the books which I agree as even without books it has a certain wt itself. I like to get feedback from parents whose DD has used the my melody trolley bag. Not cheap, saw it retailing at $119 in OG. I am concern if it will b problem if she needs to make her way up the stairs to her classroom n down. The padding looks good cos the trolley spine is like built in n u shd not feel the hardness of the trolley spine shd u carry it like a backbpack. Of cos the other concern I have is the childish design which not sure can last her till p4 n 5. Feedback , anyone? Thanks.
Trolley bag is not be allowed in certain schools. Check with your DD's school if trolley bag is allowed -
My son’s school doesn’t allow siting the reason that it is unhealthy and dangerous for kids to carry trolley bag up to classrooms in higher stories

Weight is not the only factor to consider when choosing a school bag, but it is still good to know before you buy one.
Lets do a survey on the weight of school bag of different brands and models when without loading.
I have a normal school bag (W30cm x H40cm x D20cm); Weight 500g
I read a brochure of Tiger ergo school bag (W35cm x H40.5cm x D21.5cm) Weight 990 - 1000g
I read somewhere that SPI bag spec in brochure stated Weight < 1.2kg
Wah! the extra form and padding in the ergo bag put on extra weight of 0.5 - 0.7kg to the bag. One ergo bag weight = 2 normal bags weight
Pls let us know the weight of your school back without load. -
Was at Suntec yesterday, and saw a branded goods sale in Room 301.
They are selling Deuter ergonomic bags at $99 - $109. Don’t know what range though since I was in a hurry. Anyone working in the area can pop by to provide more info? Sales end tomorrow.
Other items they are selling are sports attire, water bottles, swimming goggles, Deuter (non-ergo) backpacks, etc. in case you’re looking for these items too. -

My elder boy (sec 1) is using a Deuter ergonomic bag (which we bou from a shop in Centrepoint last year). My only complaint is it is padded too much, storage space is limited but the bag is so huge and takes up space esp in a public bus.Was at Suntec yesterday, and saw a branded goods sale in Room 301.

For parents who are looking for Impact school bags for their DD and DS, Metro is selling the 071 and 072 for $49.90 since before Xmas. Just bought one for DS today from Metro Sengkang. They have only 2 left, red and blue.

Son used his school bag from P1-2, at P3 changed to bigger one as he has more books...should still be using it until he goes sec school...I hope.
There are many brands of ergonomic bags now...can explore a little. A school bag shouldn't be too padded or it will be heavy even b4 putting books in.
Popular has a 'back to school' fair going on. -
my dd bought LEGO bag from kinder fun at Center point. its $69. its large and light wt. she is in p2. her p1 bag is a normal wheel bag(barbie).still in good condition. but this time bcos her frens are using SPI she wanted it badly. so we went to CP n OG. AT OG lego bag is only 20% off from 145$. but at Cpoint its 69$. she is ok with that so I baught it… pink is 79$.
