It seems that the DSA criteria based largely on P6 SA1 results. In my opion, the GAT and interview must have certain weightage (especially for those P6 SA1 below 80%), if not, what for they set up the test and interview?

I agree the GAT test and interview has certain weightage in the SHORTLISTING of student candidates. From the shortlist, they will prioritse based on the P6 SA1 ( for GE at least ). I know of a few who did badly for the GAT not called for interview stage and the rare ones doing badly in interview not even making the WL, despite the SA1 above 80%.

So I guess, GAT to choose amongst those below 80% SA1, and interview to choose again for all who passed GAT well and including those above 80% SA1 . FROM the final shortlist here though, they are given CO based on their SA1, and then given positions on the WL for those who did not get CO, according to their SA1.

So, for those GE students at P6 lvl, I think the SA1 is seriously a KEY added value. My personal opinion, but I think quite accurate. DS got himself in this position by being distracted during 1st half P6 :x

I think that cant be, because once DSA is confirmed, they cannot be determined by a 230 ( or whatever ) score, only by an Express criteria. In my DS CO from NJC, there was no mention about a 230 requirement.

To be fair, NJC provides the toughest route for DSA, quite similar to NUSH. RI and HCI fairly easy, just need good results and preferably GEP. And DHS dont even need do anything, just GEP and SA1 above 75% to qualify for a CO, I think.

I am NOT referring to NJC. And yes, NJC and all the IP schools are fair in admitting all who meet 200 and above. It's the other schools that tend to set the score. I have friends whose kids from other schools who also don't \"make it\" bc of their final score. And also my ds' affiliated sec school. We know of boys who couldn't make good their DSA offer bc their score fall below that set.

Anyway, none of my sons are from GEP. ;D But my ds1's doing well in NJC. Your son's going to NJC? Or RI now?

for that school that sets the minimum t-score of 230 for the DSA offer, it is setting itself up to be even tougher than the top 4 schools to enter ?? LOL!

As for T-score, for DSA case, as long as T-score above 200 and ranked high enough in waiting list, it is good enough.

Do note that someone mentioned DSA to NUSH also need Maths and Science A* in PSLE. Can anyone confirm this?

No, the CO from NUSH does not state any condition other than that one should be eligible for Experss Stream

DSA to NUSHS as long you qualified for express then you are able to get in NUSHS . It same as other IP schools.
