please enlighten me :

currently i m staying within 1km of rosyth pri sch n i m planning to apply as observer then eventually proceed to become executive member of the rc. btw i m registering my son in 2013. if in the event i move to within 1-2km of acs junior in jan 2013 can i transfer my em status to my new place continuing serving and still gain 2B eligibility for acsj?

How will I get informed of my application?

How long will the application process take?

Check with them again.

Sigh.... 3 months has passed and still no news from PA/CC/RC. Called the CC and was told PA still processing. So long & inefficient?!?

Yes, my colleague. I advised her to do so as I have known of cases in the past and she succeeded. That's 2 yrs ago and I think now more stringent, not sure if still allowed. In any case, it depends on your commitment and contributions.

Rosyth is under AMK GRC while ACSJ is under Tanjong Pagar GRC. Not too sure. I only know of transfer from other GRO to our RC as an EM, not re-start as Observer. You also have to find out if the RCs that you are joining still has vacancy for EM as it's limited to 30 only by PA. With the GE coming very soon, what you plan now may need to re-plan. Cheers!

This is time that we see influx of parents joining GROs, so can't blame PA. If you submitted earlier in the year, it should be faster. If you know which RC you applied to, you may approach the Chairman (usually someone who stays within your zone) who can help to expedite it by talking to the ACM serving it.

If GE comes, there may be a redrawn of the boundary and the whole situation may be different. :?

So long & inefficient?!?[/quote]As far as I know, they need submit your name to the advisor for approval. they will check your background thoroughly before approve which takes long time(3-6 months is normal). Not all applications will be approved.

there were two volunteers submit applications together with me, but in the end only me was approved, the others were rejected without any reason given.

If you transfer from one RC/NC to another, it does not mean you automatically retain your EM status. As timtim said, it depends on whether your new RC/NC has EM vacancies.

Also, you would need to serve a full year as an EM in the RC/NC before you are eligible for Phase 2B registration. So the time you served as an EM in AMK GRC cannot be carried forward to Tanjong Pagar GRC.

It's good that you are planning ahead but you should probably decide now whether you are targeting Rosyth or ACJS, then volunteer at the correct GRC. But note that with the coming election, there might be a chance that electoral boundaries are redrawn. If you are going to move to 1-2km of ACJS, must pray that it is still in the same GRC as the school! Best of luck!
